747mech 1 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Share Posted April 14, 2008 I doubt it. I have one on my x39, and it has u-bolts that clamp it to the barrel. My Saiga .308 16" has a heavier barrel, so the hardware wouldn't fit. Don't know about Vepr & Vepr sets. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
macbeau 902 Posted April 15, 2008 Report Share Posted April 15, 2008 At the moment - there is not an Ultimak that will fit the S-308 (22" or 16.3") without serious mods to either the gas tube or the brackets. Ffabricating new custom brackets may be an option, but they would have to wrap-around the barrel about 280 degrees or more and be inset around the barrel contour. I am not saying that someone here is not up to the challenge (Dinzag ), but - The barrel is too thick (as is) to use with any of the existing "clamps" offered by Ultimak at this time. To fabricate this - You would probably need to put the screw hole on the tube out about an 1/8" on either side and redesign the spacing on the clamps for it to work as intended - or some combination thereof...
