JDNJ1985 0
Hi guys, I should have my Saiga very soon and will be able to start the conversion. I want the modifications to look as clean as possible. When you guys remove the trigger plate, did you smooth out the area where it was removed at all? Meaning, did you do any preparation before painting it again? I'm thinking maybe shine it up a bit with the dremel. Any tips? thanks -Joe
ernestmayhand 10
I'm going to scuff it up a bit then paint. The paint's gotta have some texture to stick good to.

Yeah, I figure I can use the dremel to clean it up a bit. I suppose I'll leave it a bit rough. I'm gonna use high-temp BBQ/engine block paint. -Joe
cellsworth 21
I just scuff sand the area and clean/degrease it with denatured alcohol. Duplicolor low-gloss engine enamel (DE1634, I think) works well.
