matt7806 0
Hi, this is my first conversion and I have the rifle apart but my question is while trying to remove the old trigger group, the two pins holding it in will not slide out. Is there something holding the pins in? And if so, how do I remove whatever is holding it in. This is a S308 so there should only be those two pins to remove correct? Any info would be a great help. Thanks. -Broke
acercanto 6
You're right, those are the only 2 pins you need to remove. Look for a little wire inside on the left side of the receiver. It's called the shepherd's crook. A flathead screwdriver does wonders here. Hope that gets you going, Acer
matt7806 0
Thanks Acer, I got the shepherds hook out and the first pin came out with ease. Now the second one is still in there tight. I think this is because it is still under a lot of pressure from the hammer and spring. I am afraid if I tap it out that the hammer and spring will fly out. Do I need to remove the spring first or should I just tap out the second pin and hold onto the hammer? Thanks. -Broke
matt7806 0
Never mind....Just got it. Needed to remove the trigger and after that it was pretty easy to just wiggle out the second pin. Thanks again Acer.
acercanto 6
No problem buddy. A little trick with the hammer spring is to take the legs and pull them up and over the hammer "ears" and cross them to keep them out of the way and not under tension.
