dancapostagno 0
can a 5.54 bolt be modified to make it into a 7.62S or 5.56N/.223 bolt?
JK-47 33
a 5.45 bolt should work for .223/5.56x45mm as it is. the case heads are not the same but are very close in size, the 5.45 being slightly larger. As for 7.62x39mm, it might be possible but you would need to ream out the bolt face to the larger size and use a 7.62x39mm extractor or reshape your extractor claw to fit the larger dia. round.. **-You can also get an ak74 style bolt (the kind with the smaller stem like saigas have) from kvar with a 7.62x39mm bolt face: http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?prod...=279&page=1 Edited November 26, 2008 by JK-
