SaigaNoobie 66
So I competed in a Rifle/Shotgun match last night, and unlike last month, I actually shot both Rifle and Shotgun. I came in 3rd on the Shotgun, 6th on the Rifle and 2nd Overall. Now before you berate me for letting two non-Saiga guys beat me on the shotgun stage, let me clarify that the stage consisted of 18 Paper targets and 20 steel. The 18 paper were to be engaged by RIFLE through ports (20-30yrd shots) and were scored A=5pts etc. THEN there was a transition to your loaded shotgun that was on a table, then an engagement of 20 steel through 3 ports including 6 on a plate rack. Steel was scored as 5 pts for each downed. So 180 for rifle, 100 for steel.... Really it was a fucking rifle stage. I made up a LOT of time with the shotgun considering probably 70-80% of the time on that stage was RIFLE time. On previous matches, steel was scored at 10pts each. But, 6th on the rifle stage using a 20" 7.62x39 w/Irons and no muzzle brake makes me feel good. My $400 rifle against $2000-3000 ARs. GO TEAM SAIGA! (BTW, I have no Optics on either of my guns... yet)

second shooter 22
Well done, next time you should load up with buckshot and do the rifle section with it, those targets at 25 to 30 yards should be no trouble and you may even kick some ass. i have used my moss 590 in the rifle section of our fairly tame 3 gun match, i only had slugs but still managed quite a few hits but lost huge time on the reloads, saigas wont have that problem! topmaul 42
Wow, I was wondering about your rifle as I read your post nice job, second place is fine remember most of the really good shotgunners (tubefeeders) have been doing the same thing for many years, a fairly new person shows up with a superior weapon and puts heat on the best and smoking the rest that's fine. Spanking ARs with an AK really puts them into a tail spin. I might use my x39 at Blackwater this Sunday.
