I hope this does not seem too trivial, but being my first S-12 I am ignorant as to the subtle nuances of the weapon. With the bolt in the open position should the piston slide freely up and down in the tube and hit against the stopper and the tube bottom? It seems very noisy as it hits. I won't test fire until I hear back from the experts. Thanks to all who contribute to this site. I have gleaned HUGE amounts of information here, both gun related and other. I feel confident enough to do a conversion on my Saiga 7.62x39 as soon as Ironwood Designs makes my furniture. And a great big thanks to Tom at CGW!! He does beautiful work!!!
