So far I've got a good start on shaping the stock. I'm using pics from the internet as my reference material. Does anyone on here have a m78 and be willing to provide me with some rough dimensions? There are some good pictures here! I would go to the the 4th one down and a put it on a photocopier, then blow it up to actual size, plus about 15%. Then use it as a template to hack out your rough blank! The end that mounts to the receiver is a known dimension. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

The handguard is next. I have it started, but it's going to be the most difficult part to make. It may take me a while to make it. The only tools I have are wood rasps and a dremmel.
