but, am i supposed to leave the "dummy round" in, or take it out?

wont in only hold 19 rounds then? i tried yanking it out..

 

BTW thanks for a great product. gas plug grinds on barrel a bit..

You need to leave the dummy round in as it is needed to push the last round up the tower to the feed ramp. Without it you will not be able to cycle the last real round. You should not have any trouble getting 20 in there as I was able to. You can see 18 in mine and there are 2 more in the tower.

Not a thing for the spring...yet...I shot 100 rnds of 00buck so far. Fed like a gatlin gun. Will be doing some 8 shot this week. I did however do the a and b mod to get a good fit.

Its my understanding that you cannot load a full drum of 20 on a closed bolt. But replacing the dummy round would not make a difference as it never comes up high enough to be cycled into the shotty anyway.

Your understanding on the ability to lock a MD-20 loaded with 20 rounds into a closed bolt is correct. You need to either have the bolt open for 20 or anything less you could load on a closed bolt.
