Cutting the barrel down ?

Recommended Posts

It's impossible to say without knowing if your gun is over or undergassed as it is. Generally speaking, the more you cut off your barrel, the more gas you need entering into your block to keep it cycling well. That could mean enlarging existing holes, or if the gas block is obstructing one or more, fixing that issue (which you might need to do anyway).

Please remember that cutting your barrel less than 18" WHILE IT'S STILL ATTACHED TO THE RECEIVER is illegal, even if you immediately attach and weld on a muzzle break or other attachment that makes it over 18". Though it may only be illegal for a minute or two, it's still illegal.

Hope this helped
