grendelbane 0
I am well pleased with my new Saiga-20 except I wish it would shoot a tighter pattern with buckshot. All I have tried so far is 3" 24 pellet #3 buck, from 2 different manufactures, not much difference, both of them really scatter! Next, I am going to try Federal's 3" 18 pellet #2 buck load. Anyone have experience with these? If they don't do the trick, I may have to break down and look at threading the barrel for choke tubes.
grendelbane 0
Better late than never! I recently tested Federal's 3" 20 gauge #2 buckshot load. This is the one! Much better pattern than anyone's #3 loads. Significantly heavier pellets, also. This is the one!
kmoore 3
Hmmmm, until your post I had decided that I didn't need to spring for the 3" mags .... now my wallet will suffer. Anyone have any luck tweaking the 3" mags to work with the 2 3/4 inch shells?
grendelbane 0
Try the Federal 3"! They offer 2 varieties. I have tried the Power-Shok. There is another, more expensive loading. I have not found any for sale yet, though. I have not had much success using the 2 3/4" shells in the 3" mags. Buckshot and slug loads are more reliable, birdshot seems to offer problems. I am not too sure why this is. Since the #2buck loads are only available in 3" I will most likely stay with them.
