They were designed to stop small caliber rounds. This is the Large version (Not the XL version). These units sell for $150 on ebay, and $100 over at the sportsmans guide (and their helmets don't even come with the German Camo cover like mine!)! I am selling this unit for $62!!+$13 Shipping and Handling!!! First: "I'll Take It" Wins! I accept PayPal Only. I will only ship to the lower 48 states.
