jcmacconnell 25
Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone has used hoppes 9 on the SGL 21 series of rifles. I know the manual says to use only CLP Breakfree. I have used Hoppes 9 forever and was wondering if anyone had any issues with hoppes 9 taking off the finish Jason

bigsal 757
Hoppes is fine bro, I use it on the barrel, but stay with clp and baby oil for the bolt and fcg!
shades_of_grey 1,092
Hoppe's 9 is generally safe for the SGL21's finish. Just don't use too much elbow grease or it can and will strip the outer finish off. I learned this the hard way. Now I exclusively use CLP on my rifle, just to be safe. It works very well and a stronger solvent like Hoppe's 9 really isn't necessary. ymmv.
