paprotective 362
Anyone have ANY comments?? I just got from Kmart.. for $6.. a 12pk of 6" shoot-n-c self-stick targets.. (bought 2 pks).. Maybe use them on the next outing.. I think the new incoming scope 4-12x40 will also help me to SPOT my shots... and maybe get this thing TIGHT finally.. bass3587 0
Well I'm new here but thanks for putting up the pics. I'm happy if I can put rounds on paper anywhere at a 100 yards. I managed to get my 762x39 Saiga w/Bushnell 65/3moa Red Dot dialed in today.. At 100 yards.. target has 6 1/4" BLACK BULL AREA.. Just point and shoot.. repeat.. no real pause.. And my Saiga 5.45x39 w/NcStar 6x32 scope. @ 100 yards. Thats a 3" x 5" SWATH.. shoot and repeat.. Overall HAPPY DAY... Al
paprotective 362
Thanks.. & welcome aboard.. the 4" CLAYS were EASY at 200 yards with the 545 and the 308.. each took only either 1 shot or 2 shots to get I did 'nick' a golfball at 100 yards with the 545x39.. but that is a PITA when the scope is off by 2" high and there dangling below the backer board... DrThunder88 912
Cool! Thanks for the results. I wasted $60 of ammo on my last trip before realizing my scope mount was loose. Still, your results are quite consistent with mine. My best groups were with Prvi Partizan 168gr "match". The best groups were about 1.5-2".
nsdhanoa 13
Nice shooting Al, gusty winds definitely make things a little more tricky with horizontal stringing. I really appreciate all the range reports. Most of them tell me that these guns were really designed to run well with the cheap Russian steel case ammo, which works out better for cheap bastards like me . Couple of weeks ago we had a calm day here so I ran off to the range to get my Viper 2-7 sighted in Results are in the imgur gallery linked below if you're interested. I took my Marlin 17HMR also, because that tiny bullet can dope the wind better than I can. The first photo is a 2" 9 shot group at 200 yards pretty close to dead center (with one 10th shot that I pulled pretty bad). If there was even 1-2 mph of wind that group would have been 1.5" off to the right, so it was a good day to sight in the .308 http://ponieswhee.imgur.com/saiga_308 Best group of the day with the Tula 150gr. 3 shots almost clover-leafed and then the 4th shot off to the right. I'm convinced that this gun can serve very well as a DMR with a little work. I think it was Gabe Suarez who came up with the Guerilla Sniper Rifle concept and said Saigas with a little work can easily be 2 MOA guns?
