bigdog 1
Does anyone have an opinion on this mount? Seems hard to find and not much information available on it. RAA Saiga Optical Scope Mount, IZ169 Does it take a special optic to mount on it? Thanks, Bigdog
KC913 324
It uses standard 1" integrated scope rings. I have one on my 7.62 and I dig it. It mounts low enough so that I can pretty much use it without a cheek riser on my Tromix stock by adjusting my cheek weld slightly. Have only used it with a friends scope and had good results. Haven't got around to buying a scope of my own yet. Still deciding on what to use. It's metal (or steel?) and feels pretty solid. it runs $50.00 to $60.00 on most websites that carry it. bigdog 1
Does it have a quick release to come off the side rail? Have you heard if it holding zero when reattached? Bigdod Edited October 25, 2010 by bigdog
schultze13 354
I have one also it is on a AK-74(5.45x39) with a 4x scope and it does have a quick release after I sighted it in at 50 yards I took it off for some reason or another and but it back on last fall and killed a deer at 25-30 yards in the backyard and it seemed to be right on, but hell at that range I didnt really have to aim I could of shot from the hip. EDIT: After reading what I posted it sounded bad I think I need to quit using my back porch as a "treestand" and get back in the wood and do some real hunting. Maybe. KC913 324
Another note about this mount... It is slim enough that I can fold my MAA aluminum skeleton stock to the left while it is mounted. Good stuff, as I hate right side folders.
