Saiga rifle flash hider from CSS

Recommended Posts

I ordered one of these from CSS a while back. http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-164/SAIGA-223-7.62X39-MUZZLE/Detail

The clip portion that holds the threads clamps on pretty darn securely over my FSB. If I ordered a "real" 74 style 24x1.5 brake like this one: http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?productid=16336&cat=344&page=1 or this one http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?productid=16986&cat=344&page=1 do you think it would fit the clip from the CSS flash hider? Also, are these 2 kvar breaks as effective as the "zig zag" style break? Lastly, if I ordered just the 7.62 version, would it work equally well on both my 7.62 and 5.45 saigas? (Ie, does the break really need to be caliber specific?) Maybe this should have been 2 different posts......

I've not used one of those adapters before. Do they have the 24mm threads on them? If so, any break or FH made for that thread would probably work........BUT.....

Do not use a 22 cal attachment with a 30 cal bullet. A 30 cal attachment is ok for a 22 cal though.

UPDATE: I tried my buddies 24 x 1.5 mm 74 style break on.....no joy. The adapter is not threaded for 24 mm. I wish CSS would make one of the clip on thread adapters with 24 x 1.5mm. Seems like they might be sell well. Oh well....
