Anybody here go through the process to get a Curios and Relics FFL license? I am debating doing it just so I can buy a few Nagants from aim surplus for cheap. Is it a hassle, are there any negatives? I also heard that you can send your license in to some of the online sellers and get a FFL discount on other items such as ammo and such.

Anybody have any first hand knowledge of the subject?

I have one. I haven't used it for buying a C&R in a while, but I have saved more money at Brownells and Midway than I spent on the license fee. The only downside is the need for logging guns in and logging them out in case the ATF wants to audit you, which I'm told you can choose to be done either at their offices or at your home.

So other than paperwork, it's just a matter of being sure to use it only for your collection and not resale.
