acer 10
As the title states... How do I remove only the hinged part of the rear sight on my 7.62? I am almost finished with my conversion (just have to install bullet guide) and I am going to parkerize the stripped down barrel/reciever. I do not want to change the finish on the sight so I need to remove it and then reinstall after parkerizing. Thanks.
beefcakeb99 572
It is kind of a pain in the ass. You will need like a dowel or something to push it down and to pull it out. If you look at the side legs of the sight leaf, you can see the path it needs to go.
DrThunder88 912
I'll put masking tape over the end of a flathead screwdriver. I slide the taped blade into the channel in the center of the sight and, like beefcake said, push down (toward the barrel) and pull the sight out (toward the butt). Just take care not to lose the leaf spring that sits beneath the sight!
