Need opinion on handgaurds

Recommended Posts

I have been slowely but surely working on my 223 project and ive come to a fork in the road. I really want the CSS aluminum tri-rail but the price is killing me. So ive been looking at some low-profile, lightweight alternatives. The UTG appears way too bulky and the top rail is not needed. Tapco is just out of the question. So ive been giving the SGM tri-rail some consideration. I love the price (around $60) but the fact that it doesnt have a full length rail on the bottom is giving me second thoughts. I want to mount a magpul AFG on it to the most rearward position on the handgaurd. So ive looked at some bolt on rails and there are a million different brands of them at all kinds of prices.

So basically I just want some opinions on the previously stated handgaurds or maybe some suggestions on some I may of never heard of. Also any suggestions on some decently price bolt-on rails would be appreciated.

If weight is an issue and you are wanting rails that go all the way to the back without being bulky, have you looked at the Midwest Industries Saiga quad rail? They are the lightest quad rail that we sell for the rifle and the rails go all the way back on the bottom.

That is actually a pretty badass rail. I didnt realize they made one for the saiga. BUT, its still around $130. If I had that money I would go with CSS's tri-rail. Give me a discount and we have a deal haha.

We could do it for $115 + shipping with the forum discount included.

I'll take that deal tried to do the UTG thing and its too heavy and bulky for my girl... the Midwest industries rail is half the weight. definitely down for buying one

If you want to order on the web in the comment section put adjust per Nathan and they will hold until for me and I can adjust pricing.
