7.62x39 trigger problem

Recommended Posts

Is this gun converted?

Make sure the legs of the hammer spring are in position on the back of the trigger.

They can slip inwards and bind it up, or one or both can slip off. Where the spring's coils come off the hammer, give each a slight bend towards the receiver.

Hammer isn't in backwards is it?

Check the trigger axis pin and disconnector for any burrs.

Is the trigger binding on the pin?

Disconnector spring seated/functioning properly?

Check where the wear marks are forming, anything out of the ordinary?

Well, in that case... Convert the son of a bitch, the new FCG will be a huge improvement.

Normally one would want to make sure the gun was functioning well, with no warranty issues before conversion, so lets address the issue at hand first.

Pop the dustcover off, remove the recoil assembly & bolt/boltcarrier.

Then cycle the FCG by hand, observe closely to ascertain where/what is the problem.

Something will be visibly amiss.
