Ruffridr 0
I have just received my first Saiga 12 and would like to know if their are any gunsmiths in the greater Tampa Bay area who can do good work on Saigas (and AK-47s generally); starting with making my MD Arms and Pro-mag drums fit properly (which is probably easy, but i don't want to mess up the investment right out of the box.) Thx.
superiormirage 6
Same question as Ruffridr. I just picked up a Saiga .223 and am looking to do a conversion on it. I know it's supposed to be easy, but I am nervous about fouling up my new baby.
don452 2
JDTactical out of the Orlando area does conversions and would probably work on your guns. He can be found at most of the Orland Fairgrounds shows, and is affilaited with Spikes Tactical, so near to where you find Spikes at the Orlando Show, you will also find JDTactical setup. He mainly works on converting and selling converted Siaga-12 thjese days. Would think that he would also be able to convert a .223 Siaga also. I am in Lakeland, and know at least one local fellow who does a good job with conversions. - had a 7.62X39 Siaga converted and put a Tapco Galil front stock on it and an early ACE fixed FAL skeleton tubular stock on it and it turned out awsome. Had the extra holes riveted, but you can put inexpensive plastic plugs in the receiver holes also. Phoenix Ordnance, (Guy is the owner) out of St Petersburg will likely also work on your guns - his # (727) 776-3442. I have several Siaga .223 rifles that I need to convert, as I have Bulgarian .223 waffle Mags, that with a bit of dremel work, installing bullet button, and conversion, that I intend to put several different stocks on - a triangle folder, an RSB polymer fized stock, and Americanize an Arsenal Bulgarian skeleton stock as found on the Bulgarian SSR rifles recently imported, and modify it to the point where I can say it is primarily American made, or just utilize one of those modern thunbhole Bulgy stocks (I have several) to fit the rifle. superiormirage 6
Thanks for the info Hammerforged. I am in the Plant City area, so either St. Pete or Orlando is possible. Does JDTactical have a retail location or a website? I'd like to check him out.
