An Interesting Resource That Seems To Support Our Bill of Rights (Including the First and Second Amendments) and Stopping The Supreme Court From Legislating From the Bench. Legislation Is the Job Of Congress Not Those Appointed To Impartially Apply The Law As Written And Intended.

Hey, Speaking of individual freedoms. Did you guys hear that there are a few people refusing to leave thier homes in the hurricane disaster area? Several of them are living in thier second floor rooms of thier homes and after being asked to evacuate several times, continue to refuse.

There has been talk of "forcefully removing" anyone who will not evacuate.

This reminds me of the Mt. St. Helens eruption back in (insert year) When there were people who burned up in thier homes because it was thier choice as free Americans to stay.

I recall watching a documentary in which the reporter said that he was in awe of the 85 year old woman who refused to leave. A group of park rangers and officals knocked on her door. She invited them all in for iced tea. They all sat around her living room drinking tea and trying to convince her to leave (you could see the lava through the kitchen window in the background).

They all left after she continually refused to leave. The group visited 5 or 6 other houses, and on the way back, they showed where her house had been standing just a few minutes before.

The reporter said that he was in absolute awe of her bravery, her relaxed and polite disposition in the face of death, and her stuborness. People complained that all of the homeowners should have been removed by force. The rangers answer was simply, that removing them from thier homes by force would be unconstitutional, and un American.

People in this country still have the right to smoke and drink or drive SUVs in the fast lane or have the wife tie them up with dental floss and rub them out with green jello if they want to. Well, they are supposed to anyway.

Its just my opinion, but I feel that our freedom should entitle us to our homes, our individual perception of health, happiness and the pursuit of it (doesent that sound familiar). I have the feeling that the "powers that be" will not let anyone die in thier home this time. They seem to be in the buisness of protecting us from ourselfs lately.

Its getting ugly.
