Milsurps 4 Me 14
When I got my IZ 340 and saw how short the cleaning rod was I figured finally they're getting it right and I can make use of the cleaning rod with the rifle. Tonight I cut the sleeve off and put a 74 brake on but noticed the cleaning rod is 1/4" too long to fit. It'll fit if I snip the threaded end off but even though its a slim chance I'll ever use it, I kinda like the idea of being able to. Anyone make use of theirs? If do end up having to cut it back and re-thread the rod, does anyone know the thread size that will fit the cleaning kit brush? BigChongus 765
You can't just cut and re-thread the rod. You'd need to turn down the end that you're threading first.
mancat 2,368
My .223 actually came with an RPK-74 cleaning rod. It matches the cleaning rod from my AES-10B to a tee. I ended up using the rod from the Bulgarian AK-74 kit that was used to complete my conversion. That rod fit perfectly.
