Saiga 12 folding stock conversion

I am wanting to put a ACE folding stock on my Saiga 12. How hard is it and what is the best way to go about it. The grip has already been move up. Do I cut the tang off. Any help would be great.

If you have a welder, I would suggest buying a Tromix back plate is is already set up with two 10-32 threaded inserts on the back side, specifically for installing the ACE folder. Cut the tang off and grind the whole back end of the receiver so that it angles downward just a hair. If you don't recut the angle, your stock will be angled upward after installation. After the plate is welded in place, sand the welds smooth and refinish.

 

If you don't have a welder, you can just buy an adapter block from ACE, but it is a rather bulky looking piece and does not look like a clean factory installation.

You have 2 bolt on options when installing the ACE folder. You can install the rather blocky adapter block or you can use the cut the dang tang reciever adapter.

The latter needs the tang removed from the back of the reciever which is pretty easy to do. But you cant ever go back.
