OKC08GT500 1
I installed the long Firebird MKA 1919 handguard on my weapon and test fired it. All went well, but when I went to remove the handguard in order clean the weapon, I could not remove it. Has anyone else encountered this problem or am I doing something wrong? Haycock 9
After you take the nut off the front does it feel like its tight in the rear and kinda loose in the front? When you put the hanguard on was the last 1/8 in or so hard? I'm asking because the mka has acouple different barrel profiles so the older fb handguards (or the ones from centerfire) might be a little small where it fits over the barrel in the back. I had this issue on mine but i solved it by turning a little off the barrel so its the same OD as the newer ones. this option was easier and faster for me that why i did it but not everyone has a lathe. I would call up Jim at firebird. he is great to talk to and he will figure out whatever problems you may have with his products. ToysRUs 8
Mine is snug also....To install make sure the locating pin is lined up and a few light taps with a deadblow hammer. To disassemble I tap the HG with the deadblow. Comes right apart. I'd rather it be snug than loose
Haycock 9
if it gos on all the way most likely the opening for the barrel is correct. i couldnt get mine on all the way even with a few light taps with a rubber deadblow (im sure i could of with a few heavy hits..). you will know if its the wrong size.
