uzitiger 193
I made a collapsible stock for my Ruger 10/22 when I saw that the stock is too long for my children. I didn't want to buy a child's rifle which they would outgrow in a few years. I had a threaded adapter made for aluminum bar stock with a tongue. I then cut a groove in the stock for the tongue. I used the factory drop which did not leave much room for a vertical pistol grip so I built up the grip close to factory stock contour using epoxy and fiberglass. I tried it out at the range and it feels like the factory stock except for the curve at the end of the stock. I can now make the stock fit my children. When I take the rifle to the range in a duffle bag, the neighbors don't find out that I have a rifle. Since I don't live in the best neighborhood. The pictures show the threaded adapter, the built up grip and the rifle after staining the fiberglass and painting the collapsible stock.
