IMGP0266

The first full pot made 126 slugs. It was about midnight, so I packed it in at this point. The actual casting took about 40 minutes not counting a 5 minute wait to melt some lead out of the mold when I failed to completely close it before a pour. I think I can get a little faster.

These look great. I didn't expect it to be so easy or for them to come out so well on my first try. Only about 4 were not shiney and fully filled out. Those were not counted.

Thanks for the tips RED

Won't be the first time shooting slugs, but I will be doing much more of it, now that it costs me less than birdshot.

I am eager to get some steady sources of free lead going too.

Now if only I could get cheaper bird and buckshot than I can find at the present, I would do a lot more shooting all together.
