So with that welded your good to go till your papper work comes in? i really would like to set one of these up for my self. looks good

Yes sir that's the idea. If you get this one, IT MUST BE TIG WELDED. Getting silver solder that is the legal requirement for blind pinning up to temp is close to the melting point of the billet alum and even then it's a bitch to get right.

 

Once the weld is done simply dremel carefully till evened out, I left it intentionally nasty so I could find the spot again.

 

I used a drill press to very very slowly and carfully go all the way past the threads, and just score into the barrel, got a tap and threaded all the way down, and then inserted a set screw with a little loctite. Had a friend TIG weld it for me.
