  1. A fixed scope used on the AK mount of an unconverted Saiga has incorrect eye relief. The alternative is a weaver mount. Can you recommend a PSP scope with weaver mount for AK/Saiga (NOT SVD) with the rangefinder reticle. I believe the reticle looks like this:
  2. Love the concept of using ann actual AK mag release to hold the spare mag, smart!
  3. Has anyone modified the standard saiga stock to have it hold a spare mag like the Steyr Scout or the Keltec SU16?
  4. Tech Sight peep sights work on 7.62x39 saigas because the receiver cover is identical to AKs. Is the Saiga 308's cover the same as the 7.62x39 saiga cover?
  5. Looking for a scope for a 7,62 x 39 and got it down to these 2: - CenterPoint 3-9x40mm Tactical Hunting - CenterPoint 4-16x40mm Scope Price-wise they're comparable, under $80. The rifle is a Saiga 16" 7.62x39. Given the caliber, accuracy, which of these 2 scopes is better suited?
  6. Has anyone used a barrel resonator on a Saiga 2.18"? Does it reduce barrel whip and improve accuracy?
  7. Wondering about that too. I don't see any supporting evidence anywhere. If the 22" barrel whips too much, barrel dampeners can always be added for cheap
  8. I read this: "Will ding brass if you don't put a small piece of "car door guard" on the dust cover. Cheap fix." from here Anyone tried it and does it work?
  9. Thanks for the link. The following caught my eye in the description of the first scope: "Since the range calibrations for both the AK and SVD versions on both the 1000 meter Dragunov and 400 meter Simonov models are measured in equal amounts of MOA, all versions of the POSP can be used effectively with any caliber of weapon. " I don't get it. How can the same chevrons work for bullet compensation in 2 different calibers? Are they saying that 7.62x39 and 7.62x54 happen to drop by the same amount at 400m and 1000m respectively so the same chevrons can be used for differing distances for tho
  10. ak and svd have differing mounting brackets?
  11. In the market for a POSP scope for a 7.62 x 39 saiga. Which scope have markings adapted to this caliber? Most POSP scopes have 200m-400m reticle markings for the SVD shooting the more powerful 7.62 x 54 cartridge so these will be off for the lighter round. Would this scope be appropriate: http://www.centerfiresystems.com/drasco-SPEC.aspx
  12. A blank firing device plugs the barrel almost entirely to create enough back pressure so that most the gases get in the port, push the piston and cycle the next round. Since it plugs most of the barrel hole you can't fire regular rounds with it. It would not be a good idea at all; most certainly it would be your last idea.
  13. That reminds me of that movie scene. Advance to around 4:42: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rk_c64C1C8...feature=related
  14. I see. How does that differ from a standard Saiga that can accept US-made 30rd magazines made for the Saiga?
  15. So I take that it is legal as long as no 11 or more round mag is in the gun. I can take it to the range with its 10rd mags, a regular AK and 30rd mags and it would be legal as long as the 30rd mags are not inserted in the rifle.
