  1. First off I want to thank everyone who has chimed in on this topic... Truly I did not think this would cause as much discussion as it has. More important I have learned quite a bit for it. This will help me when I show up at my son's local firearm distributor and I'm not talking shit. As I had expected we need to wait until the politico's decide what is happening before we decide what needs to be done. I now know what the DD designation is and while I don't think my S12 fits I am just a tax paying citizen. No matter what I will just keep buying them and keeping them safe.
  2. Interesting... what is a "tax free transferrable DD" mean? The guys who hid their streetsweepers instead of registering them are stupid. They could have had a tax-free transferrable DD, but instead their guns are contraband and are a felony for anyone to possess.
  3. Pretty much as I expected... but what threw me was if they are just trying for the sale why would they toss in the firearm would be illegal to own? Posts in a few other place indicate if you buy one now it would be grandfathered into any ban the politicos would put in place.
  4. My son has been looking out for another Saiga 12 gauge for me in west Michigan. Last store he visited one of the clerks mentioned that the Saiga would be on the banned firearms list because of it being a mag fed 12 gauge. This clerk also mentioned it would be on the dangerous firerms list which means it would be illegal to own one period. The reason for this is because you can have a drum with a capacity of 20 rounds. Now I don't put much past any of the idiots in office to try such nonesense but has anyone heard of similar news or if this is possible what it means? I'm not letting

  6. Thank you, I probably should have said reliable rather than practical but from what I have heard the MD Arms 20 round drum is reliable. Looks like I will try to order one. "Move the trigger forward" that sounds difficult is it something I or a local gunsmith can do? Any chance ther are some specs or prints on the trigger move? I looked at the forum post you attached and it doesn't seem to indicate where in Michigan the shoot is. I'm getting old and don't see as well or I am beyond help ;-)
  7. Hello again... I have just managed to get a new SAIGA shotgun from my local firearm dealer. I also managed to find some 5 and 10 round mag's on-line and get them. So far so good. Now for the questions, my SAIGA has a side rail which look similar to my AK47's so I'm assuming it will take a AK47 mount. I want to add basic red dot optic to it. I have seen a AK47 mount with a weaver top from Cheater Than Dirt (CTD) that I could mount a basic red dot to. Am I barking up the wrong tree? I would also like to replace the standrd cheapo stock on my SAIGA with a folder and a pistol grip.
  8. I am considering purchasing a S12 modified by E-Tac who I have noticed in banner ad's of this forum. So far I have been very impressed with how Estaban has determined what my requirements are and matching his upgrades to a base S12. My question has anyone done business with E-Tac and can you share your experience? Thank you Uncle Shooter
