  1. You will need:

a US trigger group (Most people use the G2 trigger)

Pistol grip and the nut and screw

handguards and retainer if you are changing to normal AK handguards

Also if using standard AK handguard you will need a new gas tube with the retainers for the upper handguard

A folding stock Tapco makes them but they are cheaply made. Some people like them. If you want to go all out you can get an ACE Stock. Kinda expensive but great quality.

Just remember if you use foriegn parts(stocks,PG,handguard) You have to ploay the 922r game. The 7.62x39 Saiga has 15 parts I believe so you must replace 5 parts with US parts to be compliant. The trigger group counts as 3.

    So hope this helps

  2. A 590 for $230?!? That's insane! I would hop on that almost as fast as I would the Olsen twins...

lol, thats why I come here!

Nice carbine Wolvie. Looks kinda like starship troopers meets terminator. I think the HighPoint carbine is trying very hard to look like your Beretta. Only the Beretta actually looks bad ass! Its a 9mm right? Man, thats gonna be an awesome shooter.....I would buy one if I had the dough.

The High point looks nothing like the beretta lol. The High point is an ugly mother. Not near as cool looking as the storm. But mine shoots really well and at $139 I can't complain about price. They feel cheap and look ugly but they shoot good and seem to be pretty accurate. They also have a lifetime warranty I believe. For a fun little plinker (or home defense with the right ammo) they are great. :haha:

  3. I think $388 is kinda steep for the PG conversion. I would do it myself, but I don't have the machinery/tools to do it, and I don't know anyone that has the tools/machinery required to do it.

Anyone on the board doing these PG conversions?

I know about the step-by-step instructions on cross-conn but I think I remember someone saying that some of the steps on there are different with the 308 saiga.

Please send me a PM if you are don't mind making a few bucks doing a PG conversion on my Saiga.

I'm not sure what tools you think you need to convert the gun but all you need is a drill and/or a dremel tool. I converted my Saigas with only a dremel tool and it was a snap. Much cheaper than paying someone to do it plus its more satisfying. I think your right about the .308 being a little different but I dont think its anything major.

  4. Pistonring,

Sounds like you might want to review the position held by these guys. Conservative on guns, liberal on drugs. The rub comes with social medicine and social programs. These guys are rugged individualists. when it comes to economics. If you ain't got it, can't do it, or haven't earned it too focking bad. Some much for the aged, affirmed and disabled.

Of course there is always the John Birch Society which is just a tad more conservative.

But whatever we are (I'm a pissed off voter) it just doesn't matter cause the system is broken and corruption reigns. If you want something done politically in this country you have to buy it!!

    Wolvie

WOW! Thanks Wolvie. Your right, these libertarian guys seem to have thier heads on straighter than most. I read over the entire website, and agreed with about 70% of thier views. So far, this is about the closest I've ever been to agreement with a specific political party. They have my vote.

    Thanks again.

I pretty much agree with everything you said piston. I too am an athiest and feel much like you do on the topics you discussed. I feel the two major parties in this country have gone way too far to the extremes. The liberals are way too left and the conservatives are way too right. We need someone closer to the middle that isn't so blinded by what their parties tell them.

The libertarian party does sound great in theory but unfortunatly they can never seem to win. I don't know what its like in other areas but around here the people running for the libertarian party are usually nutballs. They focus mainly on the whole pot issue which I bet turns off many possible voters. I would really like to vote libertarian but the chances of them actually winning an election is so very slim that its almost the same as throwing a vote away. So I try and vote for the lesser of two evils.

  5. Can any one tell me where I can find the slimline style forend for my 12,Just like the one pictured on the Siaga-12.com. I trie the search but came up short.

As far as I know no one makes anything like that one. At least not around here. You could try and find a rifle forgrip and modify it to look like that. Pretty much your only option.

  6. Which G2 trigger works with saiga12 is it the single hook or double hook?

I remember seeing the conversion page a while back but can not remember what the pins were that are needed to replace what is drilled out. Size, gauge, length, or width?

They both work but you need to make an extra cut for the double hook to fit. The double hook isnt really necessary so I would just use the single hook unless you have a double hook laying around.

  7. I found what is wrong with my 7.62x39 Saiga. I forgot to install the retention spring and now I can't find it. :cryss: Is there any substitute for this component or is there anyone that has an extra one that they can mail me. (I will pay you.) I kept wondering why my FCG was falling apart on the range. Please help.

Yup this is the best way:

Very easy and secure. No fuss no muss.

  8. I was thinking about getting an Ace stock so I went on their website.... is this right..

    Ace stock: $65

    A folding mechanism: $60

    An AK adapter: $35

$160 for an Ace folding stock?? That is more than a Russian left side folder.

Thats about right. But you get a US compliance part and its great quality

  9. Your stock Saiga itn no US parts? No. You can if you do a US compliant version, probably p-gripping it like the rest of us do

Thats what I figured. Wasn't sure with the sunset of the ban in sept. Thanks.

Your better off to convert it anyways. Lots more options that way. Folding stocks, thumbhole stocks, short, long, Pistol grips....... Alll sorts of fun stuff. The conversion process is quite easy and really fun to actually do.

Heres mine not really a thumbhole stock but you get the idea :

  10. The normal price is $125, but I have more then I need at the moment. The Tromix receivers are forged aluminum mil-spec, marked "Tromix, Broken Arrow, OK, S/N TR-0XXX" There are no caliber markings on any Tromix receivers as the caliber should always be marked on the barrel. The S/N range is TR-0001 through TR-0325. Listed in the blue book of gun values. I have most S/N's available at the moment from 305 through 324. $95ea plus $8 freight shipped to your FFL. This pricing will only last for the first 10ea that sell.

Are those all ready to assemble? Are all the holes drilled we just need to put in the parts?

  11. Is that a 400m rangefinder or a 1000m. Looks to me like a standard psop. As far as I know the saigas never came with scopes. I would guess wherever you bought it from installed it. It looks identical to the one I have on my Saiga except for the AA battery conversion. I guess if it is a pre EAA saiga it may have been possible to get the scope with it. but its not any different than any other 4x psop.

  12. check your bore by taking a live round, and placing it in the muzzle tip first, the cranuluers? the belt on the bullet? shouldnt enter the rifling without pressure. with a little force, its a good bore, if somewhat easier, questionable. if it doesnt go up to the cranullure, (why cant I spell that), its very good to better than that and is definately good.

oh, dont wiggle it either, or the owner might get pissed. the muzzle contributes GREATLY to the accuracy of a gun.

just tought i would toss that out there again. lots of people dont know that trick.

Thanks Ill have to check that out.

Anyone have any tips on refinishing the stock. I figure I would just sand it down and restain it. just wasnt sure if there was anything special I should do.
