  1. I don't know about the Promag magazines. I've never owned one. I do have some of the Surefire 30 rd mags and I have absolutely no complaints. In fact I like them enough that I would bet my life on them if I had too. I don't really want to bet my life on any mag but I trust them as much as the 10 rd factory mags that come with the gun. As far as Sportsmans Guide, I was a member until recently. I stopped my membership. In the past I've gotten some good deals with them. But not long ago I ordered several scopes. The magazine description (length) of one scope was wrong by 5 inches. The other scope
  2. If you'll read my last post on "What do you feed your Saiga .223" you'll probably figure out that I believe a survival rifle is a pretty important tool. Tonight I watched the President say that a bad recession is possible. Some PHDers on Fox and the other networks have said it could become much worse, even depression. The dominoes may continue to fall. And our government caused it. Things could get bad fast. That said, any "good" rifle will do. I've shot ARs in my occupation, and I've shot mini 14s. ARs are great but expensive. The mini is the least accurate past 100 "in my opinion". A person
  3. I agree "don't ever get anywhere near 'empty'. Great advice Bad Bob! I have a personal belief on that subject. Most of us have more than one gun, most several. But when I ask alot of people how much ammo they have, they usually will tell me 1 to 1 1/2 boxes per gun. I think it's great to have alot of guns. That's our "right" if we want them. But that's just not enough ammo. If there was ever a situation in this world, say a national, state, or city disaster of some sort, a terrorist act, a world or national financial breakdown, an act of nature, a mass unexpected evacuation from the cities, so
  4. JK-47 I'm assuming your speaking of the 223's with the different barrel thicknesses? I didn't know that. Has this been going on for awhile or is it new? An earlier reply said that the .631 barrels are the thickness quality of the better AK's. Does this mean that the smaller diameter barrels coming in are of lesser quality? And does anyone know the size difference? Thanks
  5. It's an AK. Slosh it in some creek water, slam in a full mag, and "let er eat Pete". It'll shoot every time. --- I strip mine down several times a week to speed up my time. That may be important some day. If I see it needs cleaned, it gets it.
  6. Thanks Bad Bob, it's good to be here. I like to buy extra ammo when I can also. I got a real good deal on this BB 62gr jhp so I bought 1500 rds. I wish I'd doubled that, but I didn't know how accurate it would be. I just recieved a delivery today of 1000 rds of BB 308 145gr fmj. I may wish in a few days that I'd bought more of it too. I buy it to shoot not to look at.
  7. My first post. I've been shooting Brown Bear 223 62gr hp. Can't make it jam. 1 1/2" groups at 100 yds on the bench on sand bags using imported factory ammo. What a great little rifle, and I don't mean simply because it costs less. I mean what a great little rifle!
