  1. Werd Nothing better than a free mod
  2. Spent Saturday afternoon at my buddy's place converting 3 AK 30 rounders. He's pretty good with the welder so instead of steel, he just filled in the gap with weld. Then we filled it down a bit. Not too bad......15 - 20 min per mag. He put it on low heat and did it in 2 steps as not to melt the mag. The only iffy part was we noticed the 3rd mag was different than the other 2 b/c the top tab part (top of the front of the mag.....hell if I know the name) was hollow unlike the other 2. Yea I know.....ghetto looking, but it works. Gotta clean and paint them.
  3. Thanks I'm still looking for a single place to buy everything. Everyone seems to only have half of what I need. I like the stocks in the link I posted, but doesnt anyone sell them cheaper without the grip?
  4. Cool....wasn't sure what size I needed. Guess longer is better No bullet guide for me, my buddy will weld the tabs on the mags.
  5. I think I've found pretty much everything that I need except: "Two 6-32 or 8-32 x 1/4 pan head screws (optional)." This is for a 7.62 and a 20 (save money on shipping twice): Stock and grip: http://www.k-var.com/product.asp?3=608 Threaded block: http://www.k-var.com/product.asp?3=316&submit.x=7&submit.y=7 Pistol grip screw: http://www.k-var.com/product.asp?3=381 Screws (2x): http://www.k-var.com/product.asp?3=384&sub...x=14&submit.y=7 I just need the fire control group, which I'll prob get from: http://www.rpbusa.com/ak.html Am I forgetting anything? -Ro

    new stock

I'd buy at least 2......Just got a 7.62 and a 20, but I haven't bought any of the conversion parts yet. I might be worth waiting now
  7. I forget you who posted a thread about Dunhams'....but I went down there and they had 2 20gauge's left. 1 was 199.99 the other was 220.00 (w/ sight rail). When checking out, found out there is an extra $25 off. So before tax it was 174.99. Not too shabby, considering its almost 100$ less than gun shows around here. edit: and it came with 2 mags and a trigger lock (my 7.62 only came with 1 mag)
  8. Thanks for the tip........I'll definitly check it out. -Rogi
  9. Cool.......just trying to save a few $. I'm assuming the pistol grip is good too? Thanks, -Iggy
  10. http://www.k-var.com/product.asp?0=270&1=271&3=608 I didn't notice but another member pointed out that it's for an AK-74.....looks pretty dang similar to http://www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/step_9.htm. -Rogi
  11. Friends that weld are the best My one buddy said he wouldn't mind welding up my 3 AK mags...... Quick question though.....where do you get the metal for the mod? Just whatever steel is laying around?
  12. That's good to know..........you happen to have a link? I was sorta bothering me b/c it was getting hard to close. I exchanged it for a $9.99 soft case
  13. Should I worry about the added pressure on the handle when it's closed? I was gonna return it tommorow but figured I'd ask first.
  14. This was on sale for $15 except I forgot the handle sticking out on the right side. The case seems to close fine but with a bit of pressure in that spot. What do you guys use, soft or hard cases?.....I like the hard case but not sure if it will have any long term effects....
  15. I'm reading this write-up..... http://www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/index.htm Being new to Saiga's (and rifles).....how much of that conversion will I need to do just to get the stock and grip? I will be modding the clips instead of the rifle itself. Thanks
  16. Ok, I thought I could test fit them without modding them. Guess not...... Gonna see if my friend would mind doing a bit of welding for me. Thanks
  17. I ordered 3 of these: http://www.interordnance.com/Merchant2/mer...uct_Code=AK0011 for my new Saiga. Came back from a Thanksgiving trip to find that they don't fit. Seems like they don't want to click shut. Thought....comments? Thanks, -Rogi edit: I know they have to be modified before I can use them. Will they not fit until I mod them?
