hey All, I just got my 5.45 the other day! Since i already have an x39, i was thinking about making a Scout / Recon rifle with this one. Leave the sporter butt stock, but put forward mounted rails and optics. Cant decide between a Holosite or an actual Scope of some kind. Kind of an M1A Scout Rifle type configuration. What would you guys recommend as far as Rails, optics, etc... This rifles primary use is going to be for small Varmints & Coyotes and i'd like fast optics for it. one more question though...what is the max effective range on the 5.45 round for max effectiveness?

Hey guys, I need some advice... I own 2 saiga rifles. A 7.62x39 and the new 5.45x39. At this time, neither of my 2 are converted other than the frontend AK style grips, because of the fact that i live out here in far left coast of Komifornia, and quite frankly, im a little leary of doing anything to them with the way the laws are out here. My question is this: Would it be possible to tap and thread all or some of the rivet holes and use nuts and bolts with loctite to do the conversion instead of rivets? I am new to the conversion world here, and I really want to do it, but i want t

You know, i have the same issue with my Galil grip for my saiga as well. I called Tapco on the issue and they say it could be a faulty product and to sent it back. I placed it on my other saiga, and the same thing happened. what gives? is this product not made right?

i have a 7.62x39 and now im looking to get a .223, and i cant find one for the life of me! what the hell happened? where did they go? anyone have any ideas where i can get one that WONT hassle me about shipping one to CA for a REASONABLE Price? Guns America is CRAZY asking $899 for a Saiga .223! that is INSANITY!!!

Dont let him BS you. the 7.62X39 is a very reliable round out to about 300 yards, BUT, i would recommend using a scope of some kind if you are going to be Big Game hunting, strictly for precision and magnification purposes.

i know this subject has been more than likely beaten to death on this forum, and your probably thinking: not another "IS IT CA LEGAL" thread, so i apologize in advance if this has been covered in the past, as i am totally new to this forum. my question is this: Is it legal to have a traditional AK fixed mounted butt stock on a Saiga as long as its not a folding or telescoping stock and there is no pistol grip? Basically, i would like to have the trigger left in the stock Saiga location, but use the traditional AK Butt Stock, and Upper and lower handguards, thus being able to actually USE/

hey all. this is embarrassing, but i cant find a way to remove the gas tube on my 7.62x39 Saiga Sporter Rifle. im new the AK style guns, so please go easy on me...lol i also read somewhere that in order to put the AK style upper and lower handguards on, i have to either remove the heat shield on the exsisting tube, or completely replace it. give me the low down! I also want to be able to use my cleaning rod that i got with the gun too, so im assuming that i have to do something to get it to accept that too... thanX in Advance
