Ya, it was tough to bring myself to do it. But I'm glad I did. The Tobuk looked cool and was fun to shoot, but this is like ten times more so for me.

No prob Spacehog. Keep in mind that the Yugos are non-chrome lined and those that have them seem happy. As long as its an actual RPK receiver the chrome is gravy. But I do like gravy, lol.

Well lets dig this out from the mothballs, lol.
Here's some pics of my Bullpupped RPK build. Got it zeroed and co-witnessed with BUIS, as well as functioned checked a new trigger connection yesterday. Ran great. It's heavy, about 15lbs fully equiped. 11lbs stripped. But the balance is amazing. Can aim and fire one handed, lol. Thought about redoing it in plastic but I doubt I'd gain much. It weighed 11lbs when I got it.

I've got a ghost ring rear and HK style front flip ups on mine. It's about like sighting down a scope with the wider front sight.
And a low profile, cheaper micro red dot($55) co-witnessed so I can run buis without removing the red dot. It's held zero for about 50rnds of 2.75" slugs. We'll see how long it last.

Don't waste your coin, there's a dozen or so of us on the forums that have bullpupped Saiga12s and more. Look around and find one you like and pm the builder for tips, etc.

Iirc, didn’t the Black Talon's jacket splay outward, rather than mushroom, forming more of jagged star shape that shredded internals. ER docs were a major push for the ban cause they were loosing more wounded on the way in or on the table. I do see this going the same route. And ya, if it'll penetrate the relatively hard shell of a pumpkin and fragment that much, whats the chance of them over penetrating a human body and fragging out the backside? Lot of potential problems, but thats just my thoughts.

Ah c'mon, if I can drive 3hrs you got nothing to complain about, lol. It's very relaxed and being that it's a scenario based 3 gun shoot, you can run in anything from a t-shirt and shorts to full battle rattle if you want. Most go anywhere in between. A few run as some character more inline with the story/scenario. One guy tends to run in a lab coat with medical peraphanailia.

Tragic incident at another gun free zone. My guess, someone caught their SO with someone else. Definitely NOT a reason to shoot someone. But how long before the new whines for more gun control start?

Nice thing about the RPKs is they cab be used to either lay down cover fire or as a mid range DMR like the Tobuk but incorporating the heavy barrel for better accuracy. Make a list of ammo shot for accuracy and stock up on what it likes best as well.

All of this home defense talk has me wanting to ask a question... as a father of a 2 month old, it wont be long before i have to keep arms under lock and key. Any suggestions for keeping a gun at the ready with a kid in the house? Short of getting really good at using a key fast? I will teach my kid to respect firearms and gun safety but i was wondering if there was another option in regards to being quickly able to deploy a gun in a home setting with a kid just in case of shit. Any thoughts?
I carry "pouched" to keep little eyes and fingers from being too curious. Esp around my grandkids. Besides it keeps dumbasses from panicking and getting me shot by the cops. For awhile you can keep things up high, but that only last so long and changes when you least expect it. Best bet may be those little biometric safes now days. We didn't have them when mine was little.

'94 Dodge Dakota, small V8 extended cab 4x4. Had 102k on when I got. Ran it up to 240k shoeing horses. No major repairs until the tranny crapped out. Am currently at about 202k on my 2002 Dakota. Time to trade in I'm afraid.

Keep in mind that many states don't allow big game hunting(deer, pig, elk, etc) with anything much under .30. I think the 5.56 may be making headway though. Not sure of 5.45. I do believe there is more domestic production of the 7.62 which just adds to an already highly available round. Esp if you want to eventually reload.

While I know it's not even in the same class, I've got my eye on one of these now. It sucks seeing it just sit and rust. Now to be able to justify it to the lil woman, lol.

Nice. Good start for BOV. I bid on a 5ton that was converted to resemble a MRAP for training from the local AF base. But it went for $46k. WAY outa my price range. Have fun and enjoy the build.
