  1. I slid the bottom plate off my surefire 12 and it has grease on the spring. From the factory. I pushed the follower down and it moves fine. i'm not 100% sure this is a mag related problem but it sure seems to be at this point.
  2. Yep- I'm in CHS myself.
  3. I'll try it again only loading 10 or 11. It seemed to happen after the first shot or second shot and then it didn't happen any more for the rest of the mag. come to think of it, it happened at the bottom of the mag one time under rapid fire. i just figured the mag wasn't keeping up. I'll shoot a bunch thru the 5 rounders next time and see if i can make it happen again. I really slicked my gun up. It shoots 2 3/4 dram 1 0z loads from the hip! Maybe the action is too fast for the mag?
  4. I got to run a few mags thru my newly converted s12. I am having a feed issue. Hoping someone has an answer. It seems to only happen on the first couple of rounds from my surefire 12 round mag. The shell is going up too far and the face of the shell is hitting the barrel. If you are looking down the gun from the breach to the muzzle, the shell is hitting the breach at the 11 o'clock position. Happens during rapid and slow fire. Has not happened on the factory 5 round mags, but I have shot a lot more rounds from the surefire. Ideas?

Well I'm happy to say that all my hard work has paid off. My s12 shot remington target loads from the hip. Flawlessly. Very pleased. 2 3/4 dram loads from the hip! Bad ass. Now I want another one. This is a sickness.

so it seems that what i had was a Tapco saw grip for saiga's. Not the AK grip. Only thing i could find in town was a CAA and it doesn't fit without some trimming, but I will be shooting this weekend.

The bolt is not the issue. There's not a hole to put it in!

Did my conversion tonight and I had hickup. I bought my s12 used with an Ace external block and folder already on it. Tapco saw grip. Well, I guess there are 2 different kinds of saw grips because mine is not going to work with my tromix DIY. Crap. The rest was a success. Used a double hook trigger and fit it so the trigger has very limted travel. I read the idea on here somewhere and it worked great. Had to go look at the video on carolina shooters section a few times. Great video. Thanks to eveyone on this site for such great info. Now Im just crossing my fingers I can
  10. Lightning fast shipping. Got the items today. That's 2 days total! thanks for the good service.
  11. Placed an order today and had an issue with it. 100% my fault. Called him and he corrected it for me while I was on the phone. Chatted for a few minutes regarding the work I am doing (converting my s12). He was very helpful and offered me a few tips and tricks as well. Highly recommend Carolina Shooters Supply.
  12. I have an aimshot that has been good. Insanely bright. Look at the output levels. They are priced accordingly. I think I paid $350 a couple of years ago. A friend of mine just bought a $165 aimshot and mine is a good bit brighter. Noticeably.
  13. stock screw mount wait- throw lever mount- from carolina shooters supply. guntec i think it is. It is sweet.
  14. I know the "conversion" sucks but I'm the one laughing. Paid $400 for it unfired last week with the ace stuff on it and 2 5 rnd mags.
  15. I'm a Saiga noob so forgive me. got a few parts from Carolina Shooters Supply this weekend and got my new Saiga in it's current config. I had a holosight on another gun and decided to give it a try. Got a sweet mount from Greg for the saiga. My question is- Does the sight end up too high like this? I have only shot the gun without the holosight and it actually pointed pretty well using the stock config. The holosight looks cool, but does it work? I say it's gonna suck. opinions?
  16. I have a couple of Pro mags on order. I bought a Surefire 12 rd from Greg this weekend at the gun show and it fit without modification and functions perfectly with low brass. No complaints. Thanks Greg. It was good to meet you. I wish ahd a bit more time to hang out and talk Saiga. I was headed out the door when I stumbled across your table. You need a banner! A good friend of mine is in the sticker business...
