  1. Thanks for the info. I am not really knowledgeable about that stuff. I will be reading up as I plan to get all the paperwork, fingerprints etc sent off in a month or so. If I remember correctly the forms are available at titleii.com.
  2. I think the tax stamp for a SBS is significantly less then the $200 for a SBR or most other things. I could be wrong though.
  3. Because I can do it myself and know the results will be fantastic. There's not much to cutting and threading a shotgun barrel. Internal threads woul dbe tough but I don't think I will have an issue with external. In other words why pay a premium for something I can do myself and really will be no different? If we are talking the whole conversion yes a professionals results would be nicer but not just doing the barrel. I have no idea how to do the gas system myself so I do plan on paying a professional for this. I don't want a really short 10" or 8". I haven't really decided a length but
  4. I have a converted Saiga that I did myself. I want to register it as a SBS. I know Tromix does the work but I don't want to wait until 2009. Anyone else in the game for this mod? I am guessing it would involve shortening the gas system and enlarging the ports. I wonder how much it would cost. I can do everything else like cut and thread the barrel
  5. I got these mags as extras in a S-12 I just bought. I don't need them. Price is $30 per mag. Shipping is $7 priority mail for any amount of mags. The ACE Saiga reciever block w/ SAW grip is also for sale in another ad I started previously ALL MAGS ARE SOLD PENDING FUNDS
  6. This is the block you want if you do not want to modify your saiga. Price is $45 shipped. I just got a Saiga 12 that came with it and I don't need it. Ace sells it for $65 plus shipping. You just need to get a stock and folding mechanism with this, or you can just get a stock if you don't want a folder as the folding mechanism is not a necessity. I priced it so that you will save a little money buying this and the stock and mechanism instead of the whole package from ACE.
  7. I don't know what the hell it is but I double post like 30% of the time at this forum. Sorry.
  8. If you have both and have shot clay targets/ skeet, etc does the vent rib seem like it gives you much of an edge over the standard S-12 sights. I ask because I just got another Saiga and it is vent ribbed. I plan to convert it. I want to register one of my S-12's as a short barrel shotgun. After some rough photoshops of some pics from the pic thread I kinda like the way a short barrel shotgun with a vent rib looks over the standard sight S-12. At the same time though I will continue to use my 19" S-12 fpr clay shootin, bird hunting (I have a 2rd mag) etc. If the vent rib gives a really b
  9. Sorry i wasn't trying to start a ad just wanted to show off my score and all.
  10. I think I got a good deal with the extra's at $600. I plan to sell the reciever block, shark brake, and the mags. I kinda wish it didn't have the vent rib but it doesn't really matter.
  11. please erase double post
  12. I am picking one up locally today with it. I will sell you the pistol grip and block if you want to save a little money, but you would still need to get the stock and folding mechanism.
  13. Where do you get the proper spring from?? 5 round mags. THe # of coils is not even close to being the same.... I would buy it right now if I knew I could get an 8rd mag spring. No sense in spending so much for a mag and then jerry rig it to work.
  14. One thing I do regret is I had 4-8rd mags when I had my first one. I paid $75 each for them. Now I only have 1 that I paid $100 for and a bunch of agp mags.
  15. I bought my first one for $600 and felt like I paid too much so I bought another for $500 to bring down my average... but that was a longtime ago. You might get a break when some more hit our shores but I doubt it. You might want to bite the bullet now while you can. If we elect a Dumb-O-Crap President next year anything can happen and none of it good. Oh I bought one originally from cdnn for $200. My friend wanted to convert it and did so in Oct 04 a month after the ban died. I couldn't resist selling it a few months later for $700 because hardly anyone had them converted at th
  16. I see converted saigas for sale lately for ridiculous prices. I mean ones that are in such a configuration that basically anyone could do. A $400 shotgun and $200-$300 in parts priced $1200-$1400 . I understand the high prices of ones with custom sights that need welding, folding stocks that require machining of the reciever like a ak74 triangle folder, etc, etc. But saigas with tapco handguards, ace stocks, and a couple of other things priced retardedly high. I just don't understand. It doesn't really bother me I just wanted to see if anyone else thinks it's funny. I did my own conve
  17. I am about 10.5 weeks into the 12 week wait for a WM drum for my saiga 12. I kinda decided early on it was just to expensive for one mag so I have been planning on selling it plus I need cash now anyways. I was told last week they expected to be done by week 12. Anyways I am asking $320 plus $10 in shipping. Basically the same price with cheaper shipping but a much shorter wait. I do not expect payment until the drum is in my posession. I will simply reship the box unless the buyer wants me to open it up and take pics. So if you want it send me a PM or something. Please only ask
  18. I like keeping things simple. I may add a ace folding stock later but that's about it. Oops I quoted the wrong person in my last post. wut did you plug the holes with... it give a lil contrast Some aluminum screw posts (also known as chicago screws posts) I got at Ace. I was planning on making them black eventually.
