  1. Well done Mossberg!

    Statement from Mossberg:

“It has come to our attention that Dick’s Sporting Goods recently hired lobbyists on Capitol Hill to promote additional gun control,” Mossberg & Sons CEO Iver Mossberg wrote in a press release. “Make no mistake, Mossberg is a staunch supporter of the U.S. Constitution and our Second Amendment rights, and we fully disagree with Dick’s Sporting Goods’ recent anti-Second Amendment actions.”

“We believe that refusing to sell long guns to adults under age 21, while many young adults in our military are not similarly restricted, is wrong. We believe that villainizing modern sporting rifles in response to pressure from uninformed, anti-gun voices is wrong,” MKS Supply president Charles Brown wrote a statement. “We believe that hiring lobbyists to oppose American citizens’ freedoms secured by the Second Amendment is wrong. Dick’s Sporting Goods and Field & Stream, in purportedly doing all of these things, have demonstrated that they do not share our values. [We’re] standing by the American people by refusing any further sales to Dick’s Sporting Goods & Field & Stream.”

Funny how Mossberg has survived the arms race with other companies (Remington for example).  Let's hope the other's come on board as well.

  2. Going to DI School at PI was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done.  When my wife walked past me at the airport after graduation and didn't recognize me...well, that says a lot.  I lost so much weight....and back then, I didn't have that much weight to loose.  You wouldn't believe the things we use to see when we picked up 'America's Finest'.  OMG....disheartening to say the least.  And it was my duty to turn them into Marines.  Certainly not a easy task, and for many, it was an impossible task.  It was my job to thin the weak from the strong, and I was very effective at it.  You might not agree with the way it is conducted, but I don't think the Marines really care that you do.  It was tough enough in the 80's, I can't even begin to imagine how tough it is now....we are a 3M society...Meek, Mild and Mellow.  God help them from loosing their tempers....for real.  I only lost my temper twice....the rest was an act.  But the act was sincere in its meaning and cause.  If I was nice to them....then I was killing them....indirectly, and those around them as well.

God Speed Gunny and THANK YOU for all that you did.  Not many realize or appreciate what you went thru.  Semper Fi brother and guard those gates well!

  3. The Hunley and Monitor were hallmarks in Naval Battle.  Their historical value is priceless IMO.  If I ever get the chance to see them, I will.  I am sure the dead were honored respectfully.  Lady Lex will never be raised, but if they can preserve some of her treasures, and display them properly, I think it would be very respectful to those that died that their memories live on by being viewed in musuem's by thousands...as well as a swift reminder of what they gave and why.

  4. I threw up a little.....

    Concur.

    I clicked on the hypertexted Soy Boy.....what a term....describes a few of the 'boys/millennial's I work with.

Used to describe males who completely and utterly lack all necessary masculine qualities. This pathetic state is usually achieved by an over-indulgence of emasculating products and/or ideologies.

The origin of the term derives from the negative effects soy consumption has been proven to have on the male physique and libido.

  5. Yes, the mental illness debate scares me and reminds me of the death panels.  WHO exactly will make up the rules of who has mental illness, the standards, etc.  Our All Knowing and All Seeing Government?  God help us if t hey do.  I remember when they started this shit last time.  One of the mentioned topics was alcoholic treatments.  Meaning that if you had ever been treated for alcoholism, dependency, etc, then you classified as a mentally unstable individual and there fore you could not own a boom stick.  Well, i am one of those and they can suck my alcohol free nut sack.  Secure the soft targets....that will help, but it will never stop it.  Only way to stop this bullshit, if there is a way, is to educate the public....if that is even possible in the touchy-feely society we live in now, where everyone gets butt hurt over every little thing.  Fucking pukes.

    And I'm spent.  Enough.

  6. The fact that hillary is worse never made him trustworthy.

    Absolutely true.

I would support a bump-stock ban and raising the age to purchase a rifle, just to steal the issue away from the Dems before 2018.

Both are cheap casualties but, great optics for the President.

Don't care about bumps stocks, never did.  The problem is once you give a foot, the Liberals will take a MILE. What will it be next?  And YOU KNOW THERE WILL BE A NEXT.   And as for raising the legal age to 21......then they better do it for the military as well.  If not, they can all eat shit and die.  Because the 18, 19 and 20 year olds that join, some will never see their 21st birthday, but damn if they will carry a M4 day in, day out.  Nope, don't agree with it one bit.

  7. and we got a worse whooping when the parents found out!

Very true!  I was more afraid of my Father then anyone else!  The principals still used the paddle....and then some!  My daughters get a spanking if they need it.  Don't give a shit what anyone says....they are my kids and they will be brought up correctly!   They know exactly what the Golden Rules are:  Do what you are told, Don't argue, Don't lie, Don't Steal, and DO THE RIGHT THING!  (judgement call on parents part....kind of like Article 134 of the UCMJ....:)  And they know if they break them, what is going to happen.  I have very good daughters.....so thankfully spankings are rare.  They are good by no accident.

  8. The kid did not have a mom or dad and for me that will start to screw up anyone

Yes, certainly could have an impact, however, if his parents had provided him with a solid childhood, this probably would not have occurred.   All of these incidents started at home...lack of parents, mother and father, lack of parenting, lack of discipline, lack of a belief in something greater then ourselves, latch key kids, both parents working, unlimited and non-supervised access to social media, on and on and on.

Until our society starts to realize that when we breed, those trophies are OUR RESPONSIBILITY 24 and 7, until we die (you never stop giving advice to your children-whether they listen or not) this will not get better.  Just my opinion....I don't know shit.
