  1. Army Capt. Gary Rose to get Medal of Honor:

Officially, retired Army Capt. Gary “Mike” Rose was never in Laos at the height of the Vietnam War.

Rose, now 69, served as a medic in the Military Assistance Command Studies and Observations Group, an elite division of the Special Forces. It was so secret that, for more than four decades, he never spoke about it to anyone – not even the people he served with.

Those that served with him, however, never forgot the bravery he showed during a four-day mission, called “Operation Tailwind,” in the landlocked country in September 1970.

Rose, then a sergeant, ran through a hail of gunfire to treat more than 50 soldiers who were fighting the North Vietnamese Army – using one hand to hoist wounded men onto his back while he fired on the enemy with his other hand.

In spite of his own injuries, he didn’t sleep for days to make sure all 16 American soldiers deployed with him made it home.

    They did.

  2. My heart goes out to all of those affected.  I live for my two daughters...everything that I have done wrong in my life, they are making it right.  I don't know what I would do if I lost them. Terrible, terrible thought.  I am sorry to those of you that have.  That certainly sounded like a full auto to me.  Why ANYONE would do this, I just don't get it.  About his accomplice, she apparently has been cleared for now.

God bless them and prayers for them all.

A truly sad day for this country.

The repercussions for the 2nd Amend.....well, who knows, with the current ball-less leaders we have.

  3. Both of you are not incorrect what so ever.  What you saw in that video was pure laziness.  Someone should have been knee deep in their asses for bunching up.  Nuff said.

As for the shotgun, fucking pathetic.  Just another example of:  YOU DON'T always get what you pay for.  Throwing money at something doesn't always give you a better product.

In the late 80's, our Platoon Leadership, purchased 2 way mic sets from shit shack, I mean radio shack.  I think then, we each paid $20 each, Plt Cmdr, Plt Sgt., Sqd Ldr.'s and Fire Tm Ldrs.

They worked like a champ.  Worked for two deployments and then some.  Try that now.

  4. I live on 281 North, east side off of Bulverde Road, 8 miles from 1604.  I don't know how much rain we got, but it was enough.  No flooding, but again, we live in the Hill Country area, so no big deal.  Lots of wind, but certainly not tropical storm material.  I really feel bad for those on the coast and in Houston and its surrounding counties.  God be with them.  I would say we are lucky, but I bought my home where I did for a reason.

  5. Look for another job?  Hell yes I am.  Hard.  But the SOB isn't going to get away that easily.  I have busted my ass to get where I am at, and I sure as hell will not go away quietly.  I wanted to make this my last company to work for, but guess not.  Benefits are generally good, and I just hate to start all over again.

I completely understand the 'HR' thing.  Treading thru that very, very carefully.

He is very, very disliked.  Despised is probably a better term.  But, he is the key holder to the new project and he hasn't let go of that information....very smart on his part, but very dumb on the company to let it happen.  It is what it is.

He has made enough open derogatory comments to me as to bury himself, and bury himself deeply. And yes, my co-workers will state the truth if and when asked.  Next week will be probably be the end point of it all, and I am looking forward to it, one way or another.

But in the meantime, I am raping the job postings.....

  6. Netpackrat....YOU are correct, 100%. I learned that the hard way....lesson learned though. The position is nothing more then a tool to me...and I will use it accordingly so, with extreme caution.

Thank you all for your advice....I got this one. If this young turd tries to take me down, he will go down as well.

I wish I could talk to him like a man....but that isn't going to happen. I tried that once. So let's the games continue...damn shame.

  7. Yeah, well, the purpose of this thread was to give hope, but I have none.  POS called our ex-partner company, in front of me and my co-workers, and offered one of them my job.  Of course, they said no immediately, and he hung up.  His immature antics will be his down fall.  I have already prepped HR, and the 'shots across the bow' already engaged.  Young man is in for a very rude awakening very soon.  Depends on him how far I take this.  I took Friday and Monday off as I rarely take vacation time.  Will be interesting on Tuesday when I go to work.

  8. In my field (IT), I have lost hope on younger co-workers.  Of course, some of this is because of the lackadaisical attitude of my company, but in the end, it falls on the individual.  I work for a 29 or 30 (would think 14) year old 'man' that is probably one of the most intelligent people I have ever known. Unfortunately this young man couldn't lead his dick to a pisser, is extremely immature, and hasn't a clue about life, but thinks he does.  MOF, working for this putz, has convinced me to go back to school...yeah, and I'm 54.  Straight to your face lies, going back on agreements, focusing only on what is important to him and not the big picture, and trampling on anyone that gets in his way of promotion is pretty much the standard day.

But, when you are the sole bread winner for your family, it's amazing what you will take and walk away.  Oh, don't get me wrong, I would LOVE TO CHOKE THE SHIT out of his punk ass, but I need my job...or at least until I find another one.
