I am copying and pasting to fb.  This will definately piss of the leftist that haven't unfriended me.

If they call BS they can go read it for themselves straight from the liberal rag site... assuming they can read and are actually interested in truth, which is not likely. They like to keep their heads buried in the sand and ignore logic and fact with all of their might.

  2. A portion of Obama's 2013 State of the Union Address, copied and pasted from the NY Times...

"Real reform means strong border security, and we can build on the progress my Administration has already made – putting more boots on the southern border than at any time in our history, and reducing illegal crossings to their lowest levels in 40 years.
Real reform means establishing a responsible pathway to earned citizenship a path that includes passing a background check, paying taxes and a meaningful penalty, learning English, and going to the back of the line behind the folks trying to come here legally."

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is hated and demonized for actually making it happen.

  3. One of my customers is very connected in regards to the defense of this nation and the intel surrounding that. He stated once that he always thought that any significant threat would come from outside of the US, but that thought had evolved to the threat being from the left. It is quite ironic that it looks like it may be a combination of the two.

I feel for anyone that is in the potential path of this. I wouldn't run from it unless I was very low on preparations or was going to be the lone able-bodied defender. I wouldn't want to have to kill to protect myself and family, but certainly would to preserve our lives. I hope the nastiness of this doesn't reach its full potential.

On a lighter note, I can't help but wonder if there has been a significant rise in gun and ammo sales along the border.

Looks like you boys were right. It seems the Federal brass was over-sized (i'll measure them later) because I had zero failures to feed/jammed shells using winchester super X slugs. Did however have 3-5 failures to eject on them......any ideas how i might remedy this?

Do any of yall run recoil buffers on your rigs/do you recommend them?

    No recoil buffers.

    I'm guessing around $2,000

+1 probably spot on with actual selling prices.

I see them listed (key word) now and then in safe queen condition for $2300'ish. Listed price means little. I see Vepr-12s with a bunch of bolt-on parts installed listed for $3k+ . Actual sold price is sometimes drastically different.

  6. Expect to do some fitting. If you weld, the trigger position won't be a huge deal. The Norinco Hunter had a trigger in the regular AK position, but it was extended rearward to be in almost the same position as a Saiga sporter trigger. It can be done, but only you know your level of mechanical inclination, creativity, and patience.

As far as potentially asking the same question that has already been asked, don't worry about it. This is a discussion forum. Welcome aboard.

  7. You aren't crazy. I never cared for the look of those builds either and would have done something else with it too. However, I do understand why he designed them that way. Aside from creating a unique look at the time (before everyone started trying to copy him, lol) it kept things simple, eliminated the excessive comms that custom builds require, and he could build them very quickly. It was extremely wise in regards to making a good profit for the time invested and getting work out of the door. Looks better.

I never understood the desire to always run a muzzle device on a SBS. I like the barrel nut or a Salvo 12, that's it.

  8. $1100 tops, yes, even with the mags and case. Now that the KS-12 and the Lynx are available the Saiga-12 and Vepr-12 prices have softened considerably and S12s are seen for as low as $600-700 with nothing stupid done to them. Had you listed right after the bad news for the Vepr-12 (Molot being legally absorbed by Concern) and before the KS-12 and Lynx releases you would have gotten $1500 for that. Your timing just isn't good. Sell it for less or withdraw it and wait for some bad news to happen and relist.

  9. I always use factory springs. From full length guns down to 6.5" SBS, all factory springs. If the customer does not have factory springs in the weapon when I receive it I make them get factory equivalent springs. I would avoid the springs and maybe just get the booster puck. It does do a little. It depends on how close it is to running. If it stovepipes, generally it is close. You might just try some Winchester AA in it. get some 1200, 1250, and 1300 fps and figure out whether or not it will run some of that. They are about $30 or so per 100.

They are idiots.  They are well aware of what they are voting for, but the repeated stupid excuse is usually something along the lines of "I don't like the way he looks".  They all basically vote by the look of the cover, and not on substance.

The really foolish thing about it is that most of their reasons are emotional and not rational at all. The democrat party is the party of the mentally unstable. Look at the politicians all of the way down to the commentators, activists (aka 'journalists'), and supporters, all nutty. Most of their positions make no good sense. Don't kill the most wicked of society who have been proven in a court of law to be guilty, but by all means kill the child. Demonize hardworking citizens, but bend over backwards for illegal aliens. All of the while, aside from these emotional issues, many democrat voters are very conservative in the ways that affect their own wallet, assuming they actually work or worked for a living at one point.

No evac plan, but plenty of self defense choices.  I've got 4 AR platforms with optics ready to go at all times with 3 mags each.  Thanks to the import ban the Saigas and Norincos don't get out much. If I do break out an AK it would probably be my bulgarian, yugos or  my C39v2 (don't worry, it's got genuine Polish guts, so its gtg).  But yeah, its an invasion force.  Even the liberals at work are shitting their pants saying they don't want them here.

Remind those liberals that they are voting for more of this.

  12. It is really hard to understand the refinish not looking as good. It is ridiculously easy to make a refinish look better than an original finish. I'm not saying it is something I would complain about, just saying the refinish is the easy part.

Compare the rim diameter of the Fed slugs to some other shells. Sure does look tight in the trunnion. They are really cranking things out at Fed, so it wouldn't surprise me if they had a bad batch. It happens.

  13. Well, barring action work, etc. really paints you into a corner. The first thing I would do is disassemble, strip all lube, and lube with some CLP Breakfree or some other thin lube (not frog lube, just thin oil). I'd try to evaluate whether or not the recoil spring weights and lengths matched the Saiga 12 closely next. If they are longer or heavier, I might try to find some standard weight Saiga 12 springs. If all was good or close enough with the springs I'd probably remove the gas block and have a look at whether or not it has any blocked ports or deviations from the Saiga 12 design that would affect reliability. Manually manipulate everything in the action and identify any binding. Do it with the recoil assembly in and with it out. The recoil assembly can hide things.
