  1. legion is the custom shop. Not every rifle has the stamp. You can set it up with a side folder. have you done a real conversion yet? the dented casing is normal. You should search the forum, you will easily find the answer to all of your questions
  2. Heres a better question, is there a layer of copper between the chrome and steel? According to the Hoppes website it will dissolve the copper that holds the chrome to the steel. So I really hope I didnt mess up my chrome in anyway.
  3. Have you tried with more than one mag? What Im saying is it could be a mag issue...
  4. One last question while we are on the subject of chrome...I mentioned I used hoppes to clean the port, and I was just reading that hoppes is bad for chrome. Is this true? I just used some winchester degreaser to clean it of the hoppes and applied a thin layer of CLP...was this the correct action to take to stop it from any peeling? Or is hoppes not going to damage it?
  5. ya I mean the gas block. After a close look it doesnt seem to be that deep, I am thinking it is just a scratch in the carbon... would I be safe in assuming that it would take a lot of muscling to scratch the chrome??
  6. is the chrome in the gas port 'Hard Chrome' or 'Chrome Plated'? I was doing some basic maintenance cleaning my saiga. I put some hoppes 9 on a rag and wiped out the gas port (not soaked it just a quick clean and I wiped it out). I noticed a buildup of carbon on the side and scraped it off with the punch included in the AK cleaning kit. It ran across the side of the gas port a little and left a little line on the surface of the port leading to the carbon. I cant tell if its a line in the carbon fouling or in the chrome. So that is why I am asking about the Strength or "thickness" of the

  8. I have already done the basic trigger/PG conversion but I want to take it a step further. I was thinking of getting the 90 degree gas block, but how do I remove attach the new sight block? Also is it possible to attach the sight block to the gas block, I assume it is possible, if so how do you go about it? I more so want to get a new gas block and ak gas tube in order to put on some new furniture. Any suggestion/ideas? My budget is a few hundred so let me know what you think.
  9. talked to RAAC my self. "Saigas are still available for import. We are trying to bring them in at a price that will work for the American market. The factory continues to raise prices and we are not buying at the inflated prices. We all know the Saiga market will only work at a certain price range. No luck in this endeavor yet." 10. If I have 2 saiga rifles I could not swap bolts, pistons, or bolt carriers between the 2 because of headspace issues...right?
  11. What kind of other furniture would work with the slant cut? Also what kind of FCG does it have in it?
  12. Hey guys I am also wondering what is up with the saiga version 21 I beleive. It appears to have the FCG already moved forward. Anyone have experience with these? pros and cons?
  13. Basically yes, bolt the PG nut on the outside of the receiver to get the exact location..... good ingenuity...simply tracing it would be much easier than trying to measure everything and cut it. Other than it needing a special FCG what else should I know about the .308 conversion? What are some good optics any of you have experience with? I run Irons on all my other rifles But with the .308 round I would want to put some sort of low powered scope on it. Do you guys know of any good (not to pricey) optics for this rifle....anyone with good systems for their rifles want to sh
  14. I think that means you're learning - the more confused, the more learning takes place.
