  1. I'm going to be converting a .308. I just got the butt stock from K-Var and I don't like it. It's just to damn small. It's suppose to be the NATO lenth. It measures 10.5" compared to the 12.25" of the stock one and is significantly more narrow. Maybe they sent the wrong one? If that does sound right though, which one and where from do you guys recomend. I did try to call and they are closed I guess. I'll call back in the morning.

    Also, anyone use their triggers?

    Thanks,

    Doug

  2. Thanks for the replies. I know that shorter is better for "tactical" and a longer better for sporting. Mostly wanting to see what people like....so again thanks. As far as my purpose....an all purpose shotgun. I have a Model 500 and it is very versatile if you got the right barrels. Does anyone happen to hunt turkey with a Saiga? I havent seen any extra full chokes for them. I know you don't "have" to have one but.... Anyway, at the moment I'll probably get the 19" saiga and keep the 500 with the longer barrel. Or just get the 24" Saiga. Who knows. Thanks again.

  3. So what does everyone like better...........19" or 24"? Or does it matter between the use intended, Sporting or defense? Just currious as to what people like and why.

    Thanks,

    Doug

  4. Ok.....still havent shot it but did the can shim trick Indy and according to the bore sight I think I'll be in good shape. This is good because I really didn't want to buy new rings. We'll see. Thanks again.

  5. Uh........how does one get the rear sight off? And is it hard to put a replacement back on?

Also, does anyone know if there is a place to get a forearm upper with a rail attached that isn't a fortune for standard AK. I seen a comlete set in Cheaper than Dirt but for almost a bill.

    Thanks,

    Doug

  6. I finally got around to mount myscope.....had to find some higher rings. Now the possible issue. I've never used a bore sighter before but I borrowed one from a friend and I think the sight alingment is going to be off to the right and I can't remember on the elevation because I was irritated. I never mounted a scope and ran out of adjustment on the dial. Anyone else have any problems like this. I guess I'll have to order some adjustable rings?? If it quits raining I'm gonna try to shoot tommorow but I'll be limited to 25 yards.

  7. I wanted to give a preliminary thumbs up to eastwave. I have a mount on order and didn't get any sort of confirmation after a couple days. E-mailed them and they said they didn't see the order. Mailed them back and notified it was my wifes acount and gave the pay-pal ID. Got an e-mail back stating when the item had shipped. I just have never had that kind of respose when dealing with a company. The e-mailings all transpired in less than a day. So far....very happy with customer service and I haven't even gotten the merchandise yet.

  8. Well I did get 2 SA battle packs for just under $27. May get more. I did find some for like $23.95 but gone of course and they had to many back orders to more orders. That place may get more in. I did get 1000 of Silver bear for $161.45 shipped.

  9. I sold my Cetme a while back and recently got a Saiga .308. If I had to choose I'd take the Saiga. Don't have a lot of time on it yet but so far seems more accurate. I really like this gun. I've also read on several accounts (everyone has an opinion) from people that had Cetme's, not to shoot full .308 rounds but the NATO 7.62. My 2 Cents.

  10. Was at a gun show over the weekend. Could have gotten a EAA .410 for $255. I was really torn. It had a threaded barrel with a protector on. Good deal? bad? I really don't know if I want a .410.....now a 12 is a differnt story. But you can talk yourself into anything right?
