Funny they don't all wobble though. My x39 does not, my buddys 5.45 does, other buddys old SAR1 does not. Go figure.

Aesthetics aside, I wonder how it holds up to abrasion and the elements? I would think pretty well if it's like most chrome, it looks less polished than it could be though. Not my personal taste, but different. I agree on the steampunk needs wood furniture thing. And a side mount optic with a brass tube somehow.

I've been searching and reading all over for several days, don't hate me for asking. The CSS bolt on retainer, is it open at the top rear or with the ears to hold the heatshield on the later style synthetic handguards? Also, do they hold up to hard use alright? I see Dinzag who by all acounts makes top notch stuff, has a retaining set screw on there, I assume for a reason, is it an issue? Frankly I think I can drill and tap and make my own set screw for the sake of saving $40, but I figured I'd ask. The retainer from saiga-ak.com is also on my list and pretty slick looking, a
