  1. I've got a Saiga 5.45 on order and I'm deciding on which parts to use. I've never converted a Saiga to a folder before, but I'm planning on doing it with this rifle. I'm planning on picking up the ace receiver block, ace hinge, and ace stock. My question is, I flip the hinge to fold it to the right side, is it possible to get it low enough to allow the rifle operate while folded. I like the idea of having it fold right, and having the sling swivel on the left, but it might be a deal breaker if I cant operate the rifle folded. Anyone done this before? If the ace stock wont work are there any t
  2. Thanks so much for all your input guys, this is exactly the type of feedback I was hoping for. Just put in the order for the Saiga, and I'll let you know how it goes!
  3. So I've made up my mind that I will be joining the 5.45 community. I am just debating between the Saiga vs. Sgl route. I have converted a S308 and S12, so I'm not really worried about the conversion work on the back end(FCG, PG, stock etc.) However, I do think adding the muzzle brake is a little outside my skill range, and I don't want to mess up the barrel or anything. My question is whether or not a muzzle brake is really worth it on 5.45? The way I see it I can buy the Saiga and convert the whole back end for $550-600, whereas if I get the sgl it will cost me over $800 and I'll still proba
  4. I have an FNAR, and its been a good shooter. However, It is a heavy rifle as mentioned before, and the magazines are pricey. I was very impressed with the accuracy. Shooting .75 MOA or better it seemed to group tighter than my bolt Savage 10fcp. Overall I am happy with it, however it was kind of an impulse buy, and I don't know that I would do it again. For what I paid for it I probably could have put it towards a more familiar AK/AR platform. It just seems to be a new/different battery of arms that takes additional training to get used to. I cant say how it does with steel cased as I have
  5. Hey guys, pretty new to the forum, but I can't say thank-you enough for all the help I've got from you when I converted my S-12 6 months ago. You guys are awesome. I recently bought a S-308 and was planning on converting it with the CSS kit, but was looking into putting a internal receiver block in it to mount a folding stock. Im just a little puzzled as to which block I need, as the s-308 does not have the same holes in the receiver that the S-12 does. I'm looking for one in which I will cut the tang off so that it will fit flush to the rear of the receiver. Problem I got is that I dont
