I have never had the gas block off. So either it is canted, but like it was said.. I dont think so, because of the pin groove that must be lined up for the GB to go back on. or the holes are drilled off center. But in the link I posted, people are filing the D notch to work for the gas ports.

Ok yeah, I wonder why I can cycle low brass on setting 4 right, but I have on port partially covered.

 

And yeah I guess I should have asked if my gun was "under gassed" in the OP./

On the pistons.. If you have NO issues with cycling etc, would one still benefit from using a booster? Or should I just go with the SS ones?

Well efficiency, if I can help the gas system that much more, why not right? Or would that be negligent amount of help?

I've had this thread saved for some time now, ( http://forum.saiga-1...cked-gas-ports/ )but never went back to it because my gun cycles on setting 4 ( of V-plug ) and not 5 for low brass. But upon closer inspection I seen that the "D" cut slot that is cut internally ( where the gas ports are ) seems to be partially covering one of my ports.

 

My ports measured in at .08 ( 2/25 right? ) None the less, look at the picture ( hard to see, but its the left port as you are looking at it ) see if you think I should mod it..

 

 

Also, Id rather not do it, but if it is going to help then Im game. I would just have to remove the chaos rail.

Well what you can do it take a picture with your camera. Then open it in paint. HOLD CTRL then press W . This will resize the picture. Change it to say 50% ( both values ). And then do it again if the picture is still too big. Then save it to your desktop. AFter that goto www.tinypic.com Browse, find the pciture upload. Then enter the little Captcha code thingy and then once it goes thru, copy the code starting and ending in . Paste that where ever you want to upload a picture.

Whats an ideal gas port size? Mine measured in at .08 and I have 3 ports.

It all depends on how its indexed I believe I read in one of business members posts. Not all the Op rods have the same tightness, some wiggle some dont.

The face that is dished ( recessed ) is going to help too. Think high compression pistons.

It would almost seem to be a no brainer on the puck right? Even if you dont NEED it to make your gun cycle more smooth, it would help with more gas against the piston right?

yeah normal. Thats why you should have your bolt modded/polished and have your hammer profiled correctly ( no one does this except Pauly AFAIK ) and have it polished.
