Well, I didn't take any material off the mag catch due to not haveing a file small enough to get in there. I do have a dremel, but I decided to just take some more material off the mag tab with a file.... it fits fine now.

Thanks Forge for the info. I can imagine it would be a job.... but it cost a lot less than a bolt on retainer.

Sounds like you did a great job on the FSB. I'm curious on how you modified the Bulgy hand guard retainer.

Thanks Cap'm, that's what I figured i needed to do....but yea, I'd hate to take too much off for this one mag to fit right, then all my others fit sloppy.

I've got a Saiga in 5.45x39 that I've done a buttstock, pistol grip, FCG and bullet guide conversion on. I have 3 different type of mags for it - Tapco, Bulgy and one Plum Izy, The Izy will fit and function rounds, but does not have the audible click that the others have when full seated in the mag well. It also does not come out easily after fireing. I have to take another mag or anything hard, and hit the mag latch in order for it to come out. I have taken some material off the bottom part of the magazine stud where it clicks into mag lever. What else can be done to alleviat

I flush the gas block, tube, barrel and bolt with H2o Clean and lube with CLP.

Would like to know what brand and where you are getting "brass cased and boxer primed" 5.45x39 ammo. Surely you're talking about 5.56 ammo.... especially reloading.

I've just finished a Saiga IZ 240 5.45x39 conversion and am going to make my own bullet guide. It has the square trunnion. Would like to know what the thickness measurement is. If anybody could measure one of theirs that has the square trunnion bullet guide, I would appreciate it.

Is the MD arms grip a copy of the old, or new version? I am familiar with Ronin's grips... didn't know his Izzy grip was a copy of the old version, or that there even was a new version. He sells one grip called "Big Mongo".

Did MD Arms ever make an Izzy clone PG without finger grooves?

I've got one on my SGL 21, and it's the probably the best mod I could do to it. I didn't like the Tango Down PG on an AR, but this (made by the same manufacturer) US Palm grip is really nice.

The size of AK Military PG's would be good if cold weather gloves were used much, but without gloves it's a little too small for my hands. I believe I'd like the size of the Tapco SAW grip, and might just get one of those. There's a new grip out made by US Palm that looks to be of good size. Has anyone here used one - or have one and like it? Thanks
