So my machine shop instructor wants me to know by memory what the digital conversion is for every nominal standard inch fraction on the whole damn chart. Is he nuts? Why? I've seen a Garand print from 1943 and not a fraction one on it. It's fucking stupid. Saying he might test us and only give one day to study... it is so you will stop thinking in fractions and think in thousandths. Wait until they want you to memorize the number and letter drill chart to size. You will thank him later in life I promise. Memorize it and go on. It cannot hurt anything other than wasted brain cells.

lol Well tape, like I said, I'm reasonable. CSS made the point so I'm moving on. I don't think in fractions. I think in digits (thousandths and tenths.). It's weird but my brain works that way. He doesn't like that we rattle off the digits like math class (Where did he think it came from?). Which I was already trying to get used to saying thousandths and tenths till he pushed my big red button.
