  1. Hey guys sorry to abandon the thread. Busy couple of days. Fortuanetly Sundays biggest deal is dinner ( expect a pic in the chilirellno dinner thread) and a whole lotta nuthin. I'm even skipping the gym to clean a few guns long past due.

Thanks for all the posts. I'm glad to be proven wrong by the good members here. Ill post tommorrow. Have a good night

  2. So I've been following another thread here about another location having gun law problems (rightfully so)

Initially I wanted to post in the thread but I realize that would take away from the point of the thread and I don't want to do that.

Point being. Some if the folks in the northwest and northeast ( and even Colorado a couple years ago) have lost gun rights and things may be getting worse for them.

While I certainly don't relish this by any means, I'd like to make a point.

Everyone loves to dish on Chicago and cook county. Yes, they are a bastion of anti gunner laws but for fun, lets take a look.

In the last 5-7 years - cook county/ Chicago has-

    "Allowed " aows

"Allowed" sbrs. ( through a c&r bill passed a few years back. Backhanded, yes, but how many problems have sbrs caused? (One step at a time)

Lost the ban on handguns in cook county

Passed ( as the last state) a CC bill. Somewhat gun owner friendly.

Getting gun stores back in Chicago. ( yes, video checks, probably DNA and a host of other things, but still, a step forward. )

And there is a bill on the floor to "allow " suppressors.

Point being, can anyone tell me of an area in this country that has moved foeard this much in removing gun regulation? I can't think of one.

I'd love to be proved wrong.

I guarantee the next 7 posts either bash Chicago/ cook county/ democrats with no real point.

Or I get 50 views and no answers.

    Curious to see what happens.

  3. Wellllll

I generally don't agree alot with Jim. And I don't tend to stick stick my neck out too much on these type situations

But really? Ferguson was pretty clear cut to all who would look at the evidence. Those that want other evidence keep whining.

The officer was innocent. From multiple witnesses.

Long shots ( though untrue) avatar says it all. The mentality of a degenerate people... ( notice I did not say race....)

  4. Well some of are just idiots who post here, unless I'm the only one

Don't worry dad. I proudly join your ranks! :)

    Spammer.

Point if my first post. After a day of such worrying, no follow up?

Have to admit, being a contributor throws it off.

Ill have dinner any and think about it. Salisbury Steak sound good. Ehh?

Not as clever as man cats last pic...

  5. I'm with gunfun on this. I worked on a trump project in Chicago and he filed for bankruptcy (for the 7th? Time) while on the project.

So let me get this straight. The majority of republicans are ok with a potential leader who's model is to say. " yeah, let's do this, it will b the best ever! "

Halfway through say " yeah, no. I don't want to/ I'm out of money/ investors backed out etc. "

It's a crappy model for business (ethically). How will that fare when American lives are on the line?

Fuck trump. I live in illinios and I vote every election even though I know which way this state goes. Still have to try. Never had much of a problem with the republican candidate until now. This will be the first primary I ever vote in because I refuse to cast a vote for the selfish asshole.

  6. Sorry to hear that DLT. I went through something similar a month or two ago. I had plans to buy two ar pistols and a x 39 pistol (hadn't decided)

Then someone was nice enough to hit my car, not major, but had to repair. Then my hot water heater went out. Upgraded to the 50 gallon. Did most of the work myself, but still $$$$. Then ended up at urgent care with some bruised ribs. Healthcare isn't cheap.

Point being funds were depleted to the point it's not viable now. I hear your pain.

On the bright side, seems like you found a good buyer. As a thanks for the "loan" why not bring a flew rounds to shoot with him? 308 ain't cheap as I'm sure you know.

Best of luck, hope everything works out for you.

  7. I used to spend way to much time thinking and looking online about the same thing.

Simple advice? Buy another unconverted x39. I know they're not as cheap as they have been but look around. When all is said and done you will have a complete set of "spare parts" that you can change into what you want on your own time and budget. Not the cheapest route but the most effective IMHO. Take it for what it's worth.

  8. I do like the stream lights I saw. Better beams than the surefires too. Just liked the surefires controls a little more enough to buy the surefire first. But I'm definetly going to get a stream light or two.

I've got some ncstar stuff mounted on the saigas. Done well, but a low round count. Personal bias but I want a bigger name on my home defense stuff. Can't justify it, just feel better knowing I (have probably spent several hundred dollars more than I needed to for the same product) have something I can trust. :)

Was looking at viridian a while back for a rifle. Ended up buying something else. Ill have to check them out again

  9. Thanks chile.

Agreed with dad. Read a few reviews and seems mixed. Not really liking the pulse only option. However, seems like most if the negative reviews came out before some new version. Ill look into more tommorrow. I know their guide rod lasers come pretty highly reviewed. Want one for the wife's glock. It's on the list.

Ill look into more. Looking for a couple high quality light / green laser combos. My surefire is real nice but was pricey and only in red for now. ( well, last time I looked was about 8 months ago)

As to the second poster, I hope it's satire, because I can't believe anyone in either side of the fence believes its a good idea. Still just really weird. To be honest I've come across a number mildly disturbing posters since starting this search awhile ago. At first I ignored them but I actually started a folder just for them. Not sure if ill post them or not as they really serve no useful purpose.

Some were bad enough I didn't even want to save them.

Ahh well. So, back to the point. Good green laser/ light recommendations

  10. So I've been looking for posters to put in the demotivational poster thread and while there's plenty of goofy stuff and girls, there isn't much in the way of gun posters ( and by not much, I mean not much that is coherent or really usable.)

So I was looking through the memes when I found this one. I may or may not post it, but beside that point I'd like to take a closer look at that laser she has mounted. I bought a surefire xm400 ( or something like that #) awhile back but I'm hoping to get a green one too. My understanding is they're still. A ways away and will probably be 500+. Anybody know what she's got? Thanks

    Also, bonus.

I found this picture in the same search. I don't really feel its worth starting its own thread on so ill just tack it here. I must have stared at it for 3 or 4 minutes. WTF? Kill your daughter and rape your dog? Why bother shooting? At first I thought it was a joke. Than I saw the Brady logo and thought, no, they are pretty stupid. But there brand of stupid doesn't usually flow this way. Anyways, idle curiosity as what y'all thought.

  11. Well I've checked twice but im still waiting to make a final conclusion. Both times approximately 175 guests. Checked every forum. Every forum. A few had couple guests ( about what I would expect, numbering around 30-40 range. Can't explain the other 135+ guests.

Of course, I guess they could have been moving as I went from forum to forum.

It took me about five minutes. Ill leave the rest to your imagination.

So. 135 + or - guests. All sitting on the forum homepage. Sorry. That seems a bit strange.

  12. He is in the Cub Scouts and loves it.

He will remain in Scouting as long as our church maintains a troop.

I will not let him join a troop that is not church sponsored, christian, conservative and moral.

    Racist! :)

Good job chile. I have two girls I'm trying to instill values in. My sister takes my girls out to dinner once a week it so. She was floored as my oldest ( 7 and 2) stopped everything and said. " we have to say grace!" No other niece or nephew have ever asked ( 6 others, mine are the youngest) oldest is a daisy. Oldest is in MMA and im teaching her archery. Youngest is in gymnastics If I ever have a boy he'll be in the scouts.

Keep it up, there are a few of us left.

  13. GOB

Hard to "like" the post. But I hear you loud and clear. I know a litany of men killed in this trade. As I get older, many are those I've know and called friends. Last three were a man working on freight doors ( doors go up and down not side to side). Door came down and crushed his skull. He had a hard hat on. 400lbs. Didn't matter. He died slowly and painfully over the next 3 days. 2 months later I was doing the same job that got him killed.

Another went to a shutdown call. Looked in a hoistway( multiple elevators) counterweight of a running elevator hit him, folded him in half, threw him down 10 floors. Probably never even felt anything.

A friend if mine went to shutdown elevator. No one knows what happened but he fell down the hoistway. 35 feet. He survived only because he hit alot of stuff on the way down. Good man. Still missing alot of chunks of his face.

Sorry guys. Way the heck off the point here. My mind is elsewhere as I git news the other day a former coworker I still talk to got pinned under a truck on his motorcycle. Cracked skull, eye socket, broken ribs both sides, broken pelvis both side, multiple lacerations , amputation on left leg and more other crap I care to repost tonight.

Union or not guys. Be safe. Goodnight.
