  1. This part is killing me. I ordered it and it came in this week; trying to install it now. On the pin at 7 in the video cannot for the life of me get mine to go all the way through. It goes flush with the receiver, but not the 1mm past it that it needs to go for the recessed area to be in the right spot for the pin retaining plate to catch it. Any ideas? I've tried jiggling it, hitting it, trying to see if the springs on the hammer had expanded and were catching it.
  2. Thanks, that's very helpful. Can you let me know if the first video in that series shows them taking out the L-shaped wire? A longer straight one is what came out of mine, it looks like it could be bent into the shape shown here:http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/ak-lshaped-wire-retaining-spring-tapco-p-403.html But I'd like to be sure.
  3. What is the part shown at 7:24 of this video called? My Saiga did not come with this part. The manual does not show it in the exploded parts view. This AK47 exploded parts view does not show it either. http://www.gunreports.com/media/newspics/3-19-AK-47-SEMI-AUTO.jpg So I do not have this part on my Saiga. I was hoping to take it to the range for the first time tomorrow but right now it is sitting on my bench unfinished. Can anyone tell me if I need this part, or what it is, or what it does? It seems unnecessary because all it appears to do is hold the safety lever in place
  4. Thanks...I've got a tap holder already, so I'm good there. I've tapped threads before so I should be able to handle that easily.
  5. Hi, I'm trying my first Saiga conversion (7.62). I bought the Carolina Shooter Supply bullet guide kit. It is a round trunnion. I am trying to use a hand drill to drill the hole, but my drill is too large and hits the rear sight area (not sure what its called) and wants to drill at a slight angle. Has anyone else had this problem, and what did you do? would having part of the screw angled out of the bullet guide cause any issues?
  6. Given out a few sandwiches and tacos, but I don't give out cash since I was a kid. I went to college in East Texas, and after Katrina, the regular Wal-mart beggars were suddenly Katrina refugees trying to get to Dallas to see their 3 kids and grandparents and just needed some gas money, man. I had more respect for the guy trying to sell me weed at Taco Bell
