  1. This may have been discussed before, but here's my question: If a Saiga AKM doesn't have the Legion stamp on it, does that mean it's not made in the same part of the Izhmash factory? I believe I'd read that Legion was like a custom shop part of the Izhmash factory. My Arsenal SGL21 has Legion Izhmash Russia on the receiver, but I seen a new FIME (being wrongly labeled as Arsenal Inc.) without the Legion stamping, it just has, "Made in Russia by Izhmash." Sorry if this is a lame question, but just curious.
  2. I hear ya, I thought the same thing. LOL
  3. Someone clue me in as to why the bids are so high on this particular Saiga, other than having what looks like Timbersmith furniture, a Tapco trigger and polished bolt. And I may be wrong, but I don't think this is Arsenal. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=339288167 Oh forgot, the used a crayola on the stamping.
  4. I have the matching pistol grip. I didn't like the way it looks, so I put the Arsenal grip back on. Here's the red grip, didn't hate it, but liked black better.
  5. I can't tell much difference in the weight at all. I definitely like the way the wood handguards feels much better than the plastic. Buttstock has a nice pad on the end too. Arsenal stock had a metal plate.
  6. I noticed the latch in the pic after posting it. Lol It's latched now. S5snake I just bought mine on ebay, might be yours
  7. So I changed out the Arsenal plastic today for some Timbersmith Red on the Arsenal. I actually love it, but everyone I've shown it too says its ugly. Am I the only one that likes the new look?
  8. Just got offered $1200 for the Arsenal with the 8-30rd mags I have for it. Man now I'm torn.
  9. It's just a removable oversize wheel for the focus. I've had the IZ332 for about 3 years I think. My only gripe is that it doesn't have the dimpled receiver, but I've not had any problems with loose mags. It's had well over 1000rds thru it without any hiccups whatsoever. It's my favorite. It's imported by Legion USA.
  10. Are they new/old stock? I was reading that Arsenal no longer imports the SGL's and a group called FIME has the exclusive to them now. Same gun and same quality I think, but not actual Arsenal Inc. build. Stan the IZ332 is 7.62, but I'm not really wanting to get rid of it. It's my first conversion, and my favorite gun. Thanks for the offer.
  11. I have an Legion Arsenal SGL21(10rds down the tube) I was thinking of trading for an AR15, so I can have something a little different. I'm an AK guy by heart and will probably always be that way. I currently have a converted IZ332 and the Aresenal, so just kinda got bored and posted the SGL for sale or trade locally since I figure the trade value might be a little more than the IZ. What's the value of the Arsenal right now as compared to AR's.
  12. Actually, according to Soviet manuals, a stamped receiver will outlast a milled receiver, in terms of rounds fired. So, IMO, they're not better. Unless of course you think the Soviets don't have a clue what they're talking about. "Milled receivers are commonly thought to be stronger than their stamped counterparts. Some authorities also believe that they're more inherently accurate, but there are some who dismiss this difference as negligible or deny it altogether. Despite all of the differing opinions on which receiver type is better, according to Soviet manuals, stamped receivers ge
  13. So I finally picked up an Arsenal SGL21-26 yesterday. Have to say, it's very well made, and I can't wait to get out and shoot it. However, the trigger doesn't feel as clean as the Tapco G2 that I put in my 332 when I converted. Does anyone have an Arsenal, and what are your experiences with it? Are they nice rifle's?? Here's the pics of 'em together. Not much difference appearance wise. Arsenal on the right, IZ332 on the left. PS, I've put close to 1000rds thru the IZ332 without a single hiccup.
  14. Atlantic Firearms has them I do believe.
