Thanks everyone!

Hey folks. I'm a very tall guy, and I need a new stock on my Saiga AK. A LOT longer if possible. I'd also like to scope my rifle too, so that's a consideration. I did a search in the archives but couldn't come up with anything. Any recommendations on a new stock that will fit the bill for this giant? Thanks!

You can still get an un-converted Saiga rifle from Classic Firearms for $399.00. They only have the model with the 20" barrel in stock as of the date of this post, but that can change very quickly as they have continually rotating stock on hand. Also, I know it's not Saiga, but people have been making pretty favorable reviews of the Romanian M10 AK rifle too if you're interested in that.

I looked up info on the Tapco trigger safety notice, and you're correct. On some models made back in 2008, the disconnector spring hole was drilled too deep. I'm going to break down my rifle this afternoon to see if I've got one of these. Thanks for the heads up!

Today I went to the range to pop off some rounds again, and I've found some characteristics about my rifle that I'm not happy about. 1) The bolt. Whenever I fire a round, it sounds and feels as if the bolt is bashing into the back of the receiver cover. I swear, it feels like the thing is going to go right through it AND my face. Is this inherent in all AK platform rifles? 2) Slam fire or bump fire? I don't know which, but I keep getting unwanted double's about every other magazine. 3) Overly sensitive trigger. I never thought I'd say this, but I'd really love to have some resist

Dear mah, Interesting story. One word of advice: You're never going to work for either Red Jacket or gunsmith in the military until you're able to write in a clear, concise, and logical manner. Right now, your spelling and grammar are atrocious. You really need to work on this if your goal is to do virtually anything besides work in fast food or telemarketing.

I sincerely hope that you packed out all your trash. I hate people that leave that crap laying around.

Well! I can finally say I'm not an AK virgin! I got out to the range today and finally had a chance to go through some rounds with my converted Saiga. I kept it to no further than 50 yards today as I'm still just getting a feel for the rifle. How DID it feel? A heck of a lot like my SKS. It feels almost exactly the same with one exception- felt recoil. My Saiga is of course a carbine rifle, while my Yugo SKS is a stock battle rifle with a helluva lot more weight to it. Almost 2x as much. As such the AK recoil is definitely an issue. Also, the sight picture is slung very low, for
